Yeah. I think we set it at like 4k? I'd have to check. As you can see there isn't much change below. Was a little suprised.

Just found something digging through the logs again. MAT based spark retard was turned on.

Right around 5600 MAT starts to climb, and timing retards. It was retarding about 4*.

Well ****. Ed you are gonna make more power when it is cool.

Cold advance was also on.

Our 234kpa pull timing was 3-4* at full boost. Should have been 7-9*. 210kpa was 8ish instead of 12ish.

Sounds like were going to put on the squaretop and get back to the dyno. Some better det cans. And timing that we actually know is right.

Oh well, live and learn. We got fuel dialed in.

What is interesting is I didn't touch those settings from the old tune. I guess it wasn't hot enough last time to kick in.

What should MAT retard be set to? Just something else to tune?

Geez, did you not notice that overall timing was uber low?

I usually do -1 or so for every 10F past 140F or something. But yeah, it depends on car and setup.

With the flattop and better tuning I think 320-330 should be possibru

I'm not sure. We were approaching the end of the 2 hours. And didn't want to pay for another. I clicked on base timing in the log instead of spark advance I think. FWIW this was my first time tuning spark....ever lolol.

This base map table is stupid retarded.

I like the -1 for every 10* over 140. We never got to 140 on the dyno. Only like 138.

I was reading this thinking that I never seen my MATs going over 60, even on the dyno, then I realized you were using stupid units instead of celsius.

I'm really impressed with the intercooler though. 90* day. Continuous dyno pulls. And never hit more than 140ish.

side bar and true story:

last week I tuned a begi-s 1.6 with no intercooler and 1 fan and no undertray.

the ait's NEVER dipped below 160. not 1 time.

it was hilarious

Bwhahahahahahah.

Seriously though, fahrenheit works well for everyday life temperatures, but celsius is the right choice for technical stuff like data logging.

If you tuned spark by going down until loss is measured, and then up a bit back, I don't think the mat based retard would effect overall power. If you're hoping for 350, less than 4 degrees difference probably wouldn't account for 50hp. I think I remember seeing about a 10hp loss for 2 degrees, so you might get back to the original 315 we saw back in October, maybe 320-325, but not 350.

I dont expect 350 without e85. But it was at like 2* when we did the 235kpa run. Cold advance was also pulling timing I found.

Colder air is also denser, by quite a bit. Denser => more moles of O2 => more fuel => more POWAH.
