Aaaaaaand..... Subframe swap complete. Props to Curly and JC for their help yesterday. Josh is an animal. We got it done in 4 hours.
Also:
Back to back:
Iono. I don't like the wideopens on it. Here's my retarded indecisive self: I'm starting to like the black wheels. And I think 3 are salvageable so I'd just have to get a 4th. That's not bad...

For comparison:
The silver wheels do look a little plastic next to the darker silver body color. With two damaged wheels, I'd suggest new wheels and his old tires. He already has nearly $200 for his one good wheel.

Well, Josh is the only one who has driven it after we did the subframe swap. Alignment is still wayyyyy off.
The rear spindle will arrive next Tuesday. I will drop it off to Josh, then I'm heading out of town. Josh will install spindle and take it to Adrenaline Racing to get it aligned. Then he will drive it around for a week while I'm gone.
We need to do something about the rear fender. Maybe we will play with it Tuesday night.

If this is what a poor alignment feels like, I can't wait until next Thursday.
The wobbling wheel in the back is my biggest concern, but I can still drive the **** out of it (around right turns) on the back roads and it feels great. The sideways steering wheel is the biggest annoyment.
That and the seat. It absolutely sucks. In order to hit the clutch, your entire leg needs to go forward. Maybe it should just be your ankle, but I use my leg. And when you do that, the front of the seat pushes your knee up, trying to pry it off the pedal. And if you lean your head back, they've put a nice fiberglass lip for the back of your skull, unless you're 5' tall.
It's now sporting 6uls in the back with 225 RS3s, and wideopens with 205 Neo Gens in the front. Talk about a poor match. But I did a string alignment to get the toe a little better, so it's not so crooked now. I wouldn't be surprised if I was crab walking sideways with the bent spindle.

Whaddya mean the AC doesn't work? It worked before... You know, you said the AC didn't work on the 10AE either but it worked last time I tried it after I got it back from you.
I think Miata AC just doesn't work FOR YOU. :P
I'm keeping it for defroster so I can drive it through the winter time.
...I'm only kidding...
Any idea why the belt stopped squealing?
And LOL at the crab walk. you're supposed to drive it AFTER we get the spindle on! lol...

So Curly will have a boosted NB. For a week ...
Peasant steppin' UP! Taking a taste of life in the Big House!
Might be able to foamectomy that seat. You want to borrow my stock '01 seat to see what difference it makes? They stock padding is way too ... generous.

Seriously considering putting the Recaro back in and taking up swimming to drop some pounds so I can fit in it.

I have no idea what's up with Jack. Maybe he likes being the only big and brown thing? He hates the UPS truck too.
Mobius, it's a Sparco Sprint. I would LOVE any stock, NA or NB seat in this thing, over stuff or not. It's hideously tall, and uncomfortable. The 10ae was my first taste of driving an NB and I loved it in terms of comfort, support, and daily driveability. There is definitely something wrong with this setup.
So Ed, the Recaro was the driver's seat to begin with, and this was the passenger seat? And you swapped because the Recaro is a little tight?

Yup that's right. The recaro was more than a little tight honestly. I'm not even close to fitting. Even the sparco is too narrow in the shoulder area.
Dunno what I'll end up with but I'd have to lose at least 20 pounds to even have a chance of being comfortable in the recaro. It's a much much better seat than the sparco though.
