I'm sure you can have a 200whp map/setting for the track.
And a 300whp map/setting for the street.

It truly would be, win/win

Small enough turbo+wastegate and you could have a 150whp tune. I just put a switch in that goes from like 5psi wastegate to whatever I want for EBC. Well maybe a bit more on a 1.8.

I like your plan though. Salvage tub + salvage drivetrain. That's gotta' be some kind of turbofan wet dream right there no matter what you decide to do.

I was about to use that, but figured everyone is still tired of my 2+ billion inuendos and jokes from MRLS

I wanna say it was an intentional pun, but sadly it was not. I am not a smart man...

Ed, when you can beat Laz's 125whp 1.30.6 time around PIR then you allowed to run allofit!

LOL I'm keeping an interior in mine, Laz will be faster no question. I'll be shooting for Luke and Nial's times. As long as I can get close I'll be happy and move forward I think I can.

Been thinking though... there's no way I'll last more than a year without boost. So boost will be happening, probably next winter. If I can run Richard's NA bits this year I will.

CSTG will be ready for you once Laz's MSM is done, Mobius's VVT is done, and the already-at-Mitch's-house VVT I refreshed last month is in and hopefully running in his NA.

I've already created a spread sheet for generic engine builds. This'll be the 4th engine in 2 months for me, with Luke's and others I'm sure coming later. Ranges from basic refresh to ARP built goodness like Laz's MSM. I simply plug in prices for items you want/need, and leave zeroes everywhere else.

You're currently around $1750 including parts and labor if we have to tear the entire engine down. :O I'm hoping/assuming we don't.

Yikes. Yup I sure hope it comes out to less than that. What parts is that replacing?

Can I have a copy of this magical spreadsheet? I've never really priced out parts for a full engine build.

Yeah lemme clean it up when I'm back from vacation and I'll send it over to you. Nothing too interesting, just guestimating labor times, and for the stuff I don't do it's just the prices I've paid for head work, block work, etc.

I have been trying really hard not to get over excited about this shell. Tonight I went out to the garage and poked around, pulled the rear view mirror off.

I realized what a crap ton of work This is going to be.

Excitement slightly abated. I hope some of you homos will let me feed you in exchange for helping me work on my car.

Dreaming about this...

Definitely would do more work for some more of that cornbread.

I wish I lived closer to you Ed and I'd work for food.

I'd be done in a couple weeks!*

*depending on the cleanliness of the parts which may need to be disinfected

Haha yeah for sure! Just wish I had more time I could dedicate to working on it. Oh well, bit by bit. Hoping to be ready for first autox in march...

Is there a weekday you have off? I could help during school hours without too much trouble.
