Good noise canceling headphones + Awesome bucket hat + sunglasses = Joy

Ignore the face covering, I was driving through a forest fire lol. That was end of August from Portland to Thunderhill.

Mine were the AWR 70's, and yes, its 100% the design of the mount. The AWRs are like maybe a 1/4" of material thickness between a pair of tubes where the Comps are just like the stock ones, big 2"x4" block of rubber. Its slightly harder but has a buttload more material to actually do work.

I'm running MazdaComps now, both the engine and diff mounts. Much better than stock and totally liveable. I'm also a wuss

Do the new TSE rads have mounts for the AC fan on the NB?

I won't drive my Miata without my noise isolating Shure S215s. Turns the drive from hellish nightmare to comfortable pleasure cruise.

sorry yes, Shure Se215ks. Kind of an entry model into the expensive in-ear-monitor line of headphones. I like my Etymotic ER4S a little more, but they are much more pricy than the Shures.

They are incredible for the money though. ~$100. Take a little to get used to how you wear them, but I can have the TV playing and not hear it at all.

Takes away all wind noise, exhaust drone, rattles, etc. etc.

Etymotic musician earplugs ftw. Cuts all the ambient road and wind noise out and you can still hear the radio - better in fact. They are custom fitted to you, go to a hearing aid store.

I haven't gotten the custom fit yet but intend to at some point. Can't justify another $100 on top of how expensive they were. The three flange tips seat really nicely in my ear canal, a little deep to be extremely comfy though(insert ***** joke).

Took a Miata to lunch yesterday (new 2015 GT PRHT with all the packages). Nice, top down.

Last night I removed the exhaust, underbody bracing, took all the bolts for the PPF out and disconnected the driveshaft at the diff. I think I'm really close to pulling the drivetrain if only I knew what I was doing.

Lots of dirt came out. Swept up a pile like this 3 times.

Josh is coming over Monday morning to finish disassembly. Wooooo.

Haha Damn my work schedule indeed. I hate it. But I've never made this much money before (or even close to it), and it could be a lot worse.

Just an FYI... I ordered the Federal's from Onlinetires.com ... yesterday? Got an email today saying they're backordered and they estimate a 3-4 week wait. Doesn't matter to me, I'll wait, just thought I'd share for any that were considering ordering.

Woooo another triple post!

Got quite a lot done yesterday despite not having much time. Josh works fast. Unfortunately didn't get to cut the car up. Hopefully this weekend...

WTF this looks like a 2560. Further research shows that this still may very well be a 2871. Weird to me that they can still use the same compressor cover.

Ta daa!! Josh chopped some of the front of the car prior to pull for easiness.

Gratuitous turbo and mani pics:

I was still puzzled about the compressor cover, convinced it was a 2560

Look, a flywheel!

I guess I didn't take any pics of the clutch. It's a 4-puck something or other. It's orange. I don't know what it is.

I like your flywheel holding fixture

Also, I want the vent rings from your dash if they can be removed without damage. But I guess this depends on if you are selling the dash as a whole.

I'm not selling the dash at all -- it's going in the 10AE along with the rest of the interior. Remember, the 10AE has no interior. All my goodies are swapping over. While this hurts the profits, it is so much less hassle than trying to sell all this stuff.

...or reusing the dash.

MSM brake booster is the same as the NB Sport booster, correct? Might want to hold on to that one if you are going to built The Bestest Brakes™ set. Good progress mang!

I was talking with Josh about that yesterday. Yes it's the same. Can I use the MSM booster with the regular NB master? My MSM master has only one output on the front because ABS car. Josh suggested I just keep the regular NB booster and master that's in the 10AE. More research is required. If you have more information and opinions on this, I'm all ears. I was reading a thread about it recently but got a little lost.

Should I just pair my MSM booster with the regular NB master? Or should I pair my MM booster with the wilwood master? This one. Miata Race Master Cylinder kit

Except that one says not for '04-'05 turbo. Why not? Ugh. I don't understand it.

It should have 2 outlets, its just a matter of plumbing it up. I'll take a look at mine in the garage tonight. As I understand it, single circuit master cylinders have not be legal in the US on new cars since 1967
