Default Tehvine's Lame Build Thread

So here it goes, starting off the build thread. As I had posted in the meet and greet section - here is a picture of my 96 base model with the horrible wheels it came with and will be replaced with 6ul's or some other lighter non-retarded wheel:

It will of course end up turbocharged, but I am still in the reading / information gathering process. I bought what is probably way too big of a turbo to start off, but it's something.

From what I have read so far, divided turbine housings have an overall lower a/r compared to a non-divided counterpart rated for the same amount. I also would have the ability for a QSV. But regardless, that is a bridge I will cross when I get to that point.

I have started my first mod though. Coming from a DD that has bixenon's, the Miata headlights tend to be a little lackluster in the performance department. Doesn't help that the PO put some ricer angel eye lights on it either - immediately ditched those.

I had this box laying around with some parts for a rainy day - what better use than to stuff the goods into my Miata!

So here it goes. Busted out the dremel and ripped out one of the headlight assemblies from the car and got to work. I am lazy and forgot to take pictures of the in-progress chopping up of the bracket.

Decided to spray the projector housing in high temp flat black, because the unpainted metal sort of looked like ***.

Which ended up getting mounted like this:

Looks alright - but from what I read around here, function is more important than form. Brought it all outside and hooked up power from the battery to see how it shines.

Please excuse the shitty cell phone pictures, real camera is not charged up, and this was sort of spur of the moment. I'll put up some real pictures when it's all on the car. Still need to do the other headlight.

Oh good god, those rims make my eyes hurt. Glad you're replacing them.

Keep us updated! Looking forward to seeing how those new headlights look.

I was going to wire it all up today, but rain rain rain, no garage here.

I think I have decided on the Konig flatouts with some RS-3's. So I will probably just leave these hideous things on for the winter since RS-3's are not so good in cold weather.
