My only suggestion is to clean up the threads on the ceramic parts, I never got around to cleaning them before installing any studs or anything.

Awesome turbo parts, man. Total boner fest up in this bitch.

My .02 cents would be ditch the 2871 clone as it's known to be a total boner killer. Spools very slow, makes crap power. I'd sell it and run a 2560 since you're on a stock block.

Can't wait for updates

I going to give the turbo a chance and see, for 1 I don't have the spare cash laying around for a different turbo. And 2 it's worth a shot

I don't believe you will have any problems with the 2871. From my readings it will spool nicely from 3-4000rpms, specially with the 3" exhaust/dp.

Run it, I had confidence in it, haters gonna hate

Really? Is this what this forum is coming to?

My points were from experience. It was easily my least favorite turbo. A quick search will show others having the same opinions with disappointing dyno's to back it up. I'm not a "hater" just sharing my experience with that turbo and what I would recommend to him instead. Just trying to share information.

I've heard different opinions about the turbo. Not everyone can afford a garrett and that seems to be the reason he is keeping the china for now. The 2560 would be a good edition to the car, but for what he has available and with the plan to build another engine why not just run what you have until you can afford what you want? I understand selling will get him closer, but I'm sure he's eager to get turbod.

Haters gonna hate? Sorry, use to the dfwmiata forums! My point is I'd just run it, with the different experiences people have had why wouldn't you.

with that turbo i would imagine the artech stuff will flow a lot better than some of the other setups that have run that turbo. now im not expecting amazing, i just want some boost that doesnt vent the rods for me. only a little time will tell what that turbo does for my application.

progress for yesterday, we finished the remodel of our garage yesterday. i got the car in and up on stands and the trans drained. monday starts the real work.

it is very damn difficult to get that downpipe in. we had to lift the motor and move the steering rod out of the way.
