You want a MS3 of some sort. You can get a MS3X built by Braineack for about $800 but he has a decent waitlist at the moment. Or you can get a MSPNPPro from DIYAutotune for around $1200. Or a MS3Basic from TrackSpeed engineering for around $1150-1200. All 3 use the same MS3 daughter board and run the same software, hardware wise there are just small differences. The MS3 along with a wideband O2 sensor are the first things you want to buy. Then you want to buy the new TunerStudio Ultra software app. It is $100 and worth every penny. It runs on a Macbook fine, no need to get a different laptop. Once you have those you install them and start learning to tune your car stock. Go google the "megasquirt megamanual" and start reading it now. You should read it multiple times. You will need to learn how to do a ton of the stuff in there. TheCarPassionChannel on youtube has some ok videos with installing and setting up a megasquirt.

The rice intake filter which gave me my 15 extra hp like the box said ... Its pouring down now but I actually made a ghetto heatshield after work today out of aluminum. Ill take a picture as soon as it clears. My wires are tucked to know Im looking through my phone for recent pics. Ive literally owned this thing a month maybe. Boy do I love it though. I new clamps all around to... I really needs to stop raining so I can get pics from earlier.

No. We can tell that you don't have anyone critic your writing very often though. Lol, sup, ima, etc.

Incomplete sentences with missing words also makes it hard as **** to understand the message you are trying to convey.

I really like the idea of tuning a ECU now. You guys sold me to be honest. Now the car is "mechanically" tuned as in ignition timing, idle, fuel. I do have an aem wideband on it now too. That was the first step to actually tuning it so why not take the leap. And holy cow pie those ms are really that much?? There goes a paycheck on a 1400$ ecu.. Oh well thats life

Sorry my generation uses a lot of shorthand, "txt" slang, and odd lingo. I kind of adapted the habits. This is my first forum ever too. Sorry trying to get better every post. Dumb Redneck

Not related:

Damn, they're still called cedar point apartments...

I lived here 3157 Berry Ln, Roanoke, VA 24018 - Kroger, burger king, and some random other places I can't recall. That hill getting up to the complex was a blast in the winter.

I skated in this pool when they repainted it and used sand as grip.

Living half way in the ground was kinda sweet.

Girz0r: yep that strip malls still there, burger kings still selling chicken fryz and the goodwill still across the street. Cedar point where that kenote spencer kid got shot by those 2 cops. But yea man Roanoke still sucks ***, snobby old people and heroin addicts. Im glad im into cars, and a beer or two every now and then. Its gotten rough in some parts. Downtowns building up a lot though, nice to see that. Everybody here thats into cars has wrxs because of the snow...

I've a ton of wrx's. They're great. My other car is a mustang. It's also great.
I love it when no miata ever beats me at anything.

It makes threads like these moar amusing

Back on topic: get a tacoburrito manifold with a greedy turbo and a cocksport 3.1" exhaust. clamp teh return line on the fuel system and you got fuel for 10psi. ez-pz breh

megasquirt is for late night orgies

Welcome to the forum. You will enjoy tuning and will pick up some horsepower just by adding the MS, ditching the AFM, and tuning for power instead of emissions compliance.

SixShooter: I live in Virginia, no emissions orders or restrictions here. Because of how shitty most of you all are and keep telling me I cant do it, im so close to doing a FMU just to blow this piece of **** and drop a 1jz in it.

16psi: just like every other fucktard down here. "nothing can touch my stang man"

Everybody else: If anybody has any actually advice on turboing a car without MS please let me know. No more bull ****

Welcome to the forum.

I can say from personal experience the MS3 is a really nice unit. Has many more features than the MS2.

Go ms3 if you have the cash but ms2 will do just fine for most people.

Haven't seen anyone here tell you that you can't do it. And if you dislike the general attitudes, do understand noob... We wuv our noobs and rub against the grain.

Again, FMU? 1jz? Your intelligence is showing If you cant megasquirt you're definitely not 'dropping' a 1jz in.

Maybe 2jayz

You can always use AEM or an evo ecu, why against megasquirt? Lot's of platforms use it. Big in bmw community too.

Im literally following Gregs broke and boosted except for the 1.8. Going to start a vlog on youtube as well. Im trying to boost this for as little money as possible, make it reliable, and still smoke stock mustang gts and wrxs. Im literally just doing it for the haters now. If it blows ill get another 1.8 and actually MS it, but for now, no tune and FMU life.... SUCK IT haters. Lets see how long this turd bucket last.

Money is not really the issue its actually the time. Dont have time now to MS it and spend weeks trying to tune the fuel and ignition. I have a meet in a month and a half and want it ready by then hopefully fingers crossed, Im actually ordering a DIY intercooler and a ebay mani now

Many standalone ECUs will work for your car. I just believe that MS3x has the most features (and community support) for the buck right now. I got a discount on some of the HPacademy courses and have been going through them lately and I see that (most) other ECUs that they use in the courses basically perform the same functions in the same way as a megasquirt, just a different interface/screens.
