So quick update. I got down to SC yesterday afternoon and promptly went down town and drank. So this morning I go out to work on the car. I get it off the ground and start pulling off intercooler piping so that I have more room to work with. Then thunder, lightning, and rain. FML

Also does anyone know what size allen wrench is for the bolt in the oil pump?

7/32 just spins and 1/4 wont fit in.

I used a 3/8" ratchet drive hex key with a U-Joint and 12" extension. Unbolt upper alternator tensioning bracket, insert tool. You may find it very difficult to get a full 1/6th of a turn within the limited confines of the engine bay.

Better work fast, lest you let the oil pump lose its prime in the time it takes you to get everything back together.

If you want to prime the oil pump via the allen plug under the alternator...

Pour oil in, wait for bubbles to stop coming up, put plug back in without tightening very much, spin starter with plugs out and cam sensor disconnected so the injectors and coils won't fire. Have assistant watch/listen for oil under oil filler cap. Then redo plug with some sealant and cinch down. Re-test prime before putting alternator and plugs back in lol.

I just got done doing all that, sat spinning the starter for about 3 minutes. No oil pressure built up and I saw no new oil in the head while watching motor spin. I am pretty sure I'm going to have to find someone that will let me borrow an engine hoist down here and will be pulling the motor. Something has got to be fucked up with the oil pump.

Those were the old stock ones, I swapped gears at work and those were brought home in a bag and then thrown on the ground.

Bad idea. I frakking cranked my engine BY HAND and got oil flow in about 6 revs.
I turned it with a 19V drill and got flow in the head.

I cranked by hand for a few minutes using just a breaker bar and got nothing. I also used my harbor freight electric impact wrench and it could not even spin the crank.

Why is using the starter a bad idea?

Primarily because your ecu will be throwing fuel and spark into the mix if you crank with the starter.

Disconnect your engine harness (injectors, coils, temp senders) and don't worry about it. You can clear the codes later.
