Yup. That was Rogers CRZ. I believe he now drives a Fiat 500 Abarth. He was the person who originally got me down to the dragon years ago.

I have a heat gun and fender roller, thanks though.

Quick little update. Ran up to Fab9 and picked up some parts today.

The graphics on that catch can makes it look like some sort of hard core weightlifting supplement.

Found a little motivation today before i got too drunk. Not sure why i've had such a lack of motivation, i have a nice toasty climate controlled garage with cold beers and kitties for company.

Getting this intake elbow on was a PITA. The new TB is like 1/4" wider.

Runs beautifully.

Next i may start rolling the fenders. My MS2 sold and i'll be ordering tires sometime during the month of December, hopefully. My mortgage company dicked me around on my escrow.
Going to start building my fuel system too here very soon.
Fab9 has a some of the good ignitors on order, hopefully i can get one of them and remove these stock coils. Clean up the bay a little as it's going to get a little more messy with upgrades.

And so it ...begins ...continues? My quest to the $1000 fuel system, that is. ugghh i can't even think about that number.

A little mockup.

Looking good.

My SMOKED injectors. These poor things have been put on and taken off way to many times with the original o rings.
They will be sent back to Fiveo to be rebuilt. (oops did i say that name out loud)

I've got over $200 of fittings and hose and adapters and connections in the cart. Hopefully it all works and fits, i'm sure i'll have a few extra fittings though.
The plan is to run the rail as a dual feed setup with an adapter for where the FPR would go. But, if i can't get an adapter to work with an AN fitting(as in there is no room, or i just fail at everything) i'll just cap it and run the rail in a single feed system. It doesn't matter for what i'm doing i'm just overbuilding. I'll be cutting my hardlines and using a compression to AN fitting. All stainless braided line.
My biggest fear is the stupid stainless lines rubbing through other important things such as my big *** coolant reroute. I know they make it, but i'm having a difficult time finding the rubber coated braided stainless line in 6an. I know they make it because my stainless braided brake lines have it.

So i had two of these, and after tonight i have one.
I REFUSE to pay $5 a piece for these stupid things.

INSULATOR, FUEL (B675-13-158) - $5.58 - B67513158

I get pretty bored at work so i'm going to attempt to turn a few of them out of aluminum. Then i'll try and get them anodized, since i already work in an anodizing plant.

And then epoxy them to your head or fuel rail and never worry about it again.

Well, i decided to do one better.

I found a bit of titanium bar stock laying in the back. I can't think of a better material to make these out of. First time ever turning titanium. The only tailstock chuck i could find was a live center, which was no use to me for drilling a hole. I'll either find one, order one, or just chuck it somehow in the bridgeport.

My old camera will not focus.

They fit like a glove.

I'm not even sure if this will work, maybe they need to be plastic. In which case, we have a metric shitload of polypro i can make it out of too. I will never pay $5 a piece for them though.

I agree. It's actually pretty nice to work with. It's not very easy to file and clean up though.

These things are so dang small that the only difficulty i had was getting them held in the chuck.

Tell me how it turns out with the fuel return fitting on the rail. I have the same V1 FM rail and it's impossible to fit anything on the return with this intake manifold.
Super low 90deg AN-fitting with miata flange would do the case but does not exist...

Now just a waiting game on parts to show up. Delivery people will hate me this next week. Well, i think delivery people hate their jobs the entire month of December to be honest.

In Michigan I'm sure delivery people hate their jobs from November til March.

April to October, there's just roaming gang wars and bloodshed. Nice place.
