So excited to take Smurfette to the track this Friday!

But too bad the clutch has started slipping. I may have to defer my registration for next month, I don't want to be stranded 2.5 hours away. More things to fix -_-

AAA with the premium membership gives you 200 miles towing for free. It is well worth the early cost.

Sadly, I've already used my for tows for the year. Is it worth ringing it out on the track with questionable acceleration?

Hood vents letting water pool on top of the valve cover and make the plugs rustygross?

That coil mount looks great. Where did you get it?

The hood vents sit forward of the valve cover, and the plug wires where doing a pretty decent job sealing from the top. The new SADFab wires, however don't fully nest into the hole, I wonder if that will exacerbate anything.

Does the cowl cover not send water to the cam cover from the windshield?

I'd expect the wiper cowl to slope water toward the hinges since it has that lip that sits above the cowl cover. I honestly never notice water pooling up back there unless I open a wet hood. Do you guys grease these holes up? or should I be looking at some other contingency? I replaced the sparkplugs, runs smoother now. It looks like the tips of the iridiums got a little melty.

Oh man.....so for ***** and giggles I got a quote from Priority Mazda on doing a clutch job. Then I asked how much It'd cost for the oil pan to be resealed. Just labor, me providing parts. I just about pooped my pants. I knew I expected to be had, but not by this much
$950 for clutch
$824 for oil pan and re-alignment

I called a performance shop from my Subaru days and booked time to just do the clutch and related hydraulics for $450.

I'm afraid of the oil pan. I have all the parts, but really am so jaded with this kind of work.

If you were closer to me I would say we should have a clutch and oil pan party since I have access to a hoist and air tools. It's going to be one shitty weekend once I commit to doing it.

My oil pan has been leaking forever. You have a gravel driveway. Just ignore it and keep an eye in the level.

I want my hoist back, bitch! Lol.

Your color choices make me think of a Filipino Jeepney.

I'm going to grab the hoist and my engine stand from my parent's house this weekend and bring them to my place. I swear.

Geez, that's a lotta cash, if you were closer I'd swing by and lend a hand.. A few rockstars and an all nighter and it could be out, fixed and back in the car.

How soon do you need the clutch installed? I will be up in Nova middle of October and Scott and I make clutch jobs our bitch. We could possibly swing by and knock it out before we go rock out to the descedents.
