Maybe my inner 22b fanboi is getting the best of me.

Already ordered the tires, just gotta get some rust repaired and hammer some fenders. I'll order the tungsten 6UL's to get them ready.

Taking off work on Wednesday to get the exhaust back on. Stereo might be this weekend, then starting to arrange space for the subframe/diff/control arms.

probably start with the rear first. Then sort the front out later when I procure a steering rack and Xidas. I may just have a shop take care of that job. :/

Your blue looks slightly different than my blue; a bit darker. Maybe it's just cam settings? Or mine is just ancient and needs to be resprayed anyway.

Kinda digging the Mustang smurf blue

I guess this does look like poop

Ho damn. I kinda like it :3

I'm taking off early today to take delivery on the exhaust bits. I have to prep them a bit before tomorrow's install.

I really really hope to get this thing running again. I have so much more that needs to be done. Waiting on Rosenthal for rack parts. New tires come in Thursday. Brakes/Oil cooler sometime next week.

Install rear stuff, front stuff, then with tax return get new wheels and try to find a body shop to tackle the rust.

If you want to talk offline about the rust, feel free to message me and I can give you suggestions. Although, after mine is all said and done, I kind of wish that I just found a non-rusty shell instead, and did a swap. My rear quarter isn't doing too hot. I now have to decide on finding another shell, or cutting most of it out and running flares. Hmmm.

I don't have the facility to do a complete swap again. Though it would be easiest :/

God forbid I ever build another car (I'm getting tired of this game), it'd have to be when I have a garage of my own. At which point it'd probably just be a v8 catfish with a unmodded daily driver sitting in the driveway. And a rustbucket smurfette as a track only death trap

...or whoever buys this car can just shove everything into a new shell/NB

So I got the exhaust back, but Abe forgot the e-vac/ventury bit as well as a ring gasket for the sanitary clamps used.

I thought I was so close to get this running. In the mean time, I started wrapping the downpipe and will wrap the turbo manifold. The White Lightning coating by swaintech is flaking off even though it's supposed to be damn near indestructable. Oh well. I don't have time to send this back up and get it recoated if it's just going to do the same thing.

Silicone VHT paint
Header wrap
then sealing with more Silicone VHT paint and contemplating wrapping it in heavy duty foil and safety wire.

Last time I did this to my old subaru 4" downpipe, I could literally grab the pipe bare handed at operating temps. Either way, I hope this mitigates the amount of leg roasting this summer until I fix A/C

I underestimated the size of the muffler. I can't wait! Time to sell off the original. Any takers?

I have been taking apart FailFlora's car and he had **** manifold wrapped in that heat wrap. Anywhere I have had to touch has basically come apart and makes your skin extremely itchy. After that experience I will never wrap a manifold.

This...

I had PTP lava wrap on my downpipe, flaked off easily after heat abuse.

It looks like your ceramic coat may have been thinned out in that area?

This will probably be the last time. Aside from having few heatshielding options and even fewer fab skills, Just wanted to keep some temps down for the summer. If I where to wrap it again, I'll just order the TSE cast manifold. I was going to change setups, but I figured this still works for now, and I needed brakes and an oil cooler more than turbo bits. I'm just tired of heat blasting my legs.

future projects.

Have you put vent ducting stuff along your trans tunnel yet? I bought some stuff from home depot racing and it along with the downpipe being wrapped drastically cut down on the temps in my cabin on long drives. This is what I used on my car.

That's a great idea. Is it adhesive or just kindof lays there?

If I can get the car going soon, I was planning on doing the stereo revamp this weekend. Would be a good time to play with the trans tunnel.

I have mine in the trans tunnel under the car. One side of that wrap stuff is sticky but I did not trust it. So I also bought some 3m spray adhesive that I spray up there before I put it on. You want to get the trans tunnel as clean as possible so the stuff sticks well.
