Default 2000 Mazda Miata LS - $6850

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a 2000 Mazda Miata LS for sale, in USA - Alabama.

Mileage: 128000 miles
VIN: JM1NB3537Y0154379
Engine Size: 1.8

Asking price is $6850

Helping out member Golddigger who was having a hard time listing it. NO AFFILIATION

2000 LS. Fully loaded. This has been my G/F's daily driver for the past 48,000 miles. She needs a bigger car for work and we don't have room to simply keep adding cars. So she will be getting something bigger to replace it.

It has been trouble free. It has the FM Stage II with Air to Air I/C and Link ECU set-up running 9lbs of boost. Full 3” Stainless FM exhaust Upgraded slotted rotors. All else is stock. Dunlop Direzza's with about 50% of tread left.

This engine was transplanted into the car which I purchased with a failed thrust washer bearing. This engine had 20K on it when purchased from a totaled car purchased by Tom Neel at the PartsGroup.

It has been running a limited of 9 lbs of boost since the LINK is not capable of running fuel management past this. With a Megaquirt and bigger injectors this can make 20+ lbs of boost all day long. Turbo is warranted for life from Flying Miata. It is both oil and water-cooled.

It is due for some maintenance. This is before we knew to upgrade the fasteners to Inconel. The steel studs stretch. One has broken and 2 work loose after about 200 miles after tightening. Boost or not. So it has a leaky exhaust and as a result it is pulling an O2 code. Tighten the bolts and the Fault clears, until they loosen up again. So it needs to have the hardware upgraded there. Another board member here has the same turbo set-up with upgraded fasteners and runs 20+ lbs of boost for 2 AutoX seasons with no issues.

It also has a either a cam or front main leak. Not bad as in using oil, but it leaves drips behind on the floor after you park it. So it is due for a timing belt and seal change. I am selling as is and fully disclosing. I figure most are going to want to go with a MegaSquirt ECU and bigger injectors so you will be tearing into it yourself anyway.

Besides the leather seats the interior is excellent. I had a leather repair guy come out when I was putting the engine in. He filled the cracks and did the car lot leather prep he does for the dealers here. They looked BRAND NEW......for about 5 months. Now they look like leather seats in a 12 year old Miata.

Top is newer and has no issues. The exterior has its share of parking lot encounters for a 12 year old daily driver. Most happened from the P/O but even we have had a couple. For about $700 worth of ding repair and new skins on the seats and she'd be a first class Show-N-Go runner.

Here are a few pics. I will answer any questions you have and provide more pictures as requested. Located in zip 36532

$6850

Thank you Sir for the assist. Not sure why it wouldn't let me post it. Good on ya for helping a fellow board member out.

I notice it didn't post pics. I'd sure like to have some pics up for this. Maybe I will link them to somewhere once I upload them. Unless a board moderator can help me out here.

Or just upload them directly to the forum. Go "advanced" and then "manage attachments, and voila.

Well... since you asked...

You've got a Miata that, if stock with no issues, would be worth about $5k. Add oil leaks, exhaust leaks, and the fact that the car doesn't present itself particularly well in the photos (dirty, front bra is not appealing), the turbo kit probably cancels that stuff out.

In other words, you either need to fix the issues or sell it for less. Just my 2 cents, and only because you asked.

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. Will consider offers made. But I will keep it for a toy before giving it away. Turbo set-up is more than 2K by itself, as is.

Even if the turbo kit were removed from the car and sold complete it would be difficult to get $2k for it, and it adds less value than that when included with the vehicle. Best bet would be to remove the goodies and sell them, and then sell the car stock.

I like the car and its potential... But like it is with ALL modified cars... You never get close to what you've put in them. Example: my Audi B6/A4 I paid 10,500 for 13mths ago, put over $18,000 in it up to today(in shop getting last little tweaks finished) and I'd be lucky to get $12,500 for it. Back to the Miata, fix everything and give it a complete detail inside and out. Then try $6500. Like I mentioned, I'm in the market again since I'm using the Audi as my DD and need a toy/SCCA canidate. Just trying to help, not being a d**k

Not making you out to be a d**k. I'm listening. The pics were taken in our heavy pollen days here. The car isn't ratty, but if you wash it it gets covered in pollen in 2 hours. Yes I can fix everything. I was of the feeling that most wouldn't want to keep the LINK set-up and therefore are going to tear into it anyways. Or I can negotiate pricing as is. If you are looking for a track car, you want a solid runner not a Show-N-Go.

Well its the d**k again LOL... Do you still have the car for sale? I'm selling my Audi and deciding between a 951 or daily TurboMiata. I've inquired about a couple of others on here but you are close(I'm in Nashville). Contact if you still have it please... Would like a Daily thats in "turn key" condition. Just shoot me a text:
