As have I, and been burned one too many times to do it causally. To seriously consider a deal it have to be pretty sweet on my end, have compression numbers on the engine, better and more pictures, etc. And I hate rust and cars from the north (FWIW, north to me means north of i-20). But if you want to move it quick I have cash.

alright, well i've been getting flack now for trying to sell the hardtop seperately as apparently only like 500 or so of these were ordered from the factory like this. Well for starters, the car is no longer wired to hook up to the hardtops defrost, the previous owner messed up a wire while he was changing up the audio system. so it would need to be rewired again to plug into the hard tops defrost.

second, if people want to keep it together for the history etc of the combination, then offer to buy it for a reasonable price with both in mind. The car has minor issues, not mechanically, but cosmetically due to its age, I will absolutely admit that. But it's got a very well done and thorough turbo system, upgraded suspension, and the rest of the drivetrain is built up as well. These things are selling for 2500-5000 all over craigslist, with a soft top, no turbo, in the same condition.

Then add to that the fact that it's got a factory matching hardtop (which I have been told on here is apparently extremely rare and I've been chastized at the thought of splitting them up!) in mint condition. Given those conditions, I actually do think the 6k is fair. Yet I'm still very flexible.

If you want to keep the car together for its "rarity" and historical significance, what have you, then buy it for a fair price. Mind you, I didnt say for my price, I said for a fair price (even though as I said I think you could argue 6k is fair for everything that this car includes). Don't give me negative props and say I'm a dou chebag or anything... I have already admitted, I'm a noob when it comes to the miata world...

Well alright then, I'm currently working on getting the history of the turbo build and some other details from the previous owner. I will be probably just deleting this thread and creating a new one as I'm going to do it right, and give you guys probably more information than you care about. I will tell you this much, after discussing it with Tom over at Miata.net updated pricing will be 4500 without hard top or adding 800 for the hardtop. More details to come. Lots more. But Im going to have to delete this one or something because there's far too much to change and update. Let me know what route I should go based on basically needing to start over correctly.
