It is time for me to sell this gem. I’m a little hesitant, but I have probably only put 2500 miles on it in the last two years. I just don’t drive it enough to keep it. Its an absolute blast to drive and I have set it up well to make some serious power with forged internals.2004 Mazdaspeed Miata Velocity Red with a Classic Red hard top (with headliner and rear defrost)
105xxx miles – on the low side of average miles.
Exterior – fairly stock
Mazdaspeed front and rear bumper, more aggressive look than a traditional miata
Hardtop would count as ‘exterior’o Hard tops are fairly rare; this top is in extremely good condition. The paint is 9.5/10 and everything else about it is 10/10. It comes with two sets of top latches, and two sets of side latches. It also comes with a complete set (top and side) hard latches, they bolt in and out of place.
Overall paint on the car is an 8.5/10. There are no paint chips, however there does appear to be minor sun fading happening on the tops of the side mirrors and a little on the hood. Nothing major but enough to notice to the trained eye.-
License tag and blinker lights are all replaced with led bulbs.
Will include custom NB Miata car cover.
Soft top is still intact under the hard top, but does have a tear above the window.
Interior – fairly stock
Stock cloth seats, black and red two tone in 9/10 condition. No tears, but I was planning on replacing with a racing seat.
Stock radio with 6 disc CD changer
Aux cord adapter integrated with stock headunit.
Stock Bose audio system
Oil pressure gauge, boost gauge, AEM afr gauge in a triple A pillar
DOES have AC and PS
Miata Roadster short shifter kit – this is one of the newest additions to the car and its absolutely amazing. Best short shifter I’ve ever used.
Two sets of floor mats – one stock mazdaspeed mats, one aftermarket plush carpet Miata ‘M’ mats

Fully custom ARTech exhaust – exhaust manifold, downpipe, midpipe, and muffler.
Full 3” from the turbo back
Garrett GT2871R turbo
Tial 38 mm external wastegate, two springs included. Current spring is 9psi, extra spring, I believe is 14? Not positive.
HSK SSQV Bov
Flyin Miata Stage 1 Clutch and Pressure plate. Probably only has 5,000 miles.
Aftermarket ‘ebay’ intercooler 3x larger than stock at least.
FIC 650 cc injectors
Megasquirt 2 enhanced full stand alone ECU; programed by Reverant and tuned with Tunerstudio
Tokico adjustable suspension – this was on the vehicle when I got it; I believe it is the old “Flyin Miata Tokico Stage 2 NB Package”
15x9 6UL black wheels. These are wrapped in 225/45/15 BFGoodrich Rivals, first gen. They have about 25% tread left.-
15x7.5 Konig wheels. These are on the car now
wrapped in some Falkin 512’s
Wilwood big brake kit – new calipers in the front. SS lines all the way around, new rotors and pads all the way around. Only about 1000 miles or less on them, and maybe 2 autoX events. Plenty of life left.
Koyo Rad – its their newer one, I installed early this year or last year…its extremely effective. Did this the same time as the short shifter. Two fantastic upgrade.
I feel like that is about it.
This car is/was a project car so its not completely perfect but its, IMO, a very clean project. Pro’s everything listed above. It still has AC, still has windshield washers, still has all the stock ‘luxuries’ but it is set up to go quick and grip.
Con’s that I can think of – it has a very small oil leak. I only notice this because it sits in the garage for weeks and weeks, when I move it there is a small puddle. It looks to be maybe 1 drop of oil a day; maybe even 1 drop every other day. It seems like it may be coming from the oil pan seal; but I have not investigated this much. Another con to me, the tear in the soft top; but with the hard top in place its no big deal.
The main con – I completely forgot because I don’t drive often. At idle!! Sometimes it will idle for 30 minutes with no hiccup. Sometimes it will idle and want to die. I suspect a vacuum leak of some sorts but have not spent the time to find it.
All maintenance is up to date and ready to go. Battery was replaced in Jan of 2016. Timing belt and water pump (as well as both accessory belts) were replaced in March of 2016.
Coolant has been flushed once since the timing belt, probably late May.
December of 2015, Transmission fluid flushed and rear dif fluid replaced with Redline gear oil. I will include a few quarts of this with the sale also.
Its currently sitting in the range of 210 whp to 220 whp, tuned at 9psi on stock internals. The turbo/exhaust/injector etc are all setup for 300+ whp, probably closer to 350 whp.It saddens me to sell this thing but I feel like the time is right.

I'm fairly motivated to get this gone, so these prices are negotiable. I kind of just based it on what other MSM's seem to be going for with the addition of the solid platform to make 350 whp.
