15 years for recording a traffic stop

Eavesdropping laws vary greatly from state to state.

Freedom still exists in this nation, but not universally and not predictably. It is being stolen, day by day.
A man was interrogated by a cop. The cops routinely videotape their targets. These videotapes do not wind up in a court of law unless the police are bringing the complaint. The man thought he could even the odds. He shot a video the cop. The cop asked him if he was being videotaped. The man said yes. The cop arrested him for eavesdropping, a felony. He can get 15 years in prison. To stay out, he will pay a lawyer a great deal of money. He still may go to prison.
State laws against eavesdropping were written to protect citizens from police eavesdropping in private: recording phone calls. The police are now using the laws against citizens. They have re-defined the practice to mean recording public acts of the police.
The public is unaware of this shift in application. The police might face opposition if the public found out. So, the cops don't tell the victims that it's a criminal violation until after the citizens have committed the crime. Then they bankrupt the victims: legal fees.

Utter BS. There should be a "Reality Check" in place somewhere for **** like this. And the cops should be held accountable for their actions. If they arrest someone for something like this, they need to be given some corrective action.

When I was younger we used to film ourselves skateboarding, throwing mattresses out of hotel windows, garbage cans off roofs, running around in a gorilla suit, etc etc. One time we asked a pair of state troopers to arrest us on camera. They asked me if it was on, I said no (it was), they laughed and said they could just see that on the news the next day. They weren't dicks or anything about it, but this was way before youtube.
I think cops will **** with the idiots that **** with them. If you leave them alone, chances are you'll be left alone. Get pulled over and give them an attitude and you might get ******* thrown in the back of the car. Nothing to hide, nothing to worry about (to a point).
Years ago I was arrested for pot. We left the bar and late at night I was hitting a bowl pack on the way home. Little did I know it was right in front of a cop. They pulled us over, I told them where it was and that it was only me that had it (me, my ex and her 2 friends). On the way to the parking lot they took me to, the cop was talking to me like a normal human being, until like an idiot I asked if I would get the pot back. He flipped out and I ended up in handcuffs in the back seat for awhile longer while I watched him flirt with the girls. Eventually they let me go with a promise to appear (charges eventually dropped).
Point is, I've fucked with cops my whole life. If you **** with them, expect to get fucked around with back. If you have nothing to hide and can handle keeping you mouth shut, the only thing you'll probably end up with is a ticket.
