Cop Said he 'Kindly Assisted' this Innocent Man -- But Video Shows He Savagely Beat Him

A former Bethel cop who claimed that he “kindly tried to assist” Alaska Native Wassillie Gregory into his cruiser has pleaded guilty to assault and has been sentenced to jail. Andrew Reid, 40, pleaded guilty by telephone in Bethel District Court to two misdemeanor charges — fourth-degree assault and official misconduct — after a video surfaced which shows his treatment of Gregory was anything but kind.

In the video obtained from a store surveillance camera, Reid can be seen repeatedly picking up and slamming an inebriated Gregory to the concrete before arresting him. Gregory clearly has poor motor control and is pushed away from the cruiser before being tossed around like a sack of potatoes. He sustained a fractured rib and shoulder injury that required surgery.

A visitor from Arizona witnessed the brutality on July 12, 2014, and reported it to police. Gregory pleaded guilty to harassment two days later without a lawyer present. However, the complaint from the witness prompted Bethel Police Chief Andre Achee to investigate the incident, whereupon he obtained the video footage.

It wasn’t until Gregory’s new lawyer, Sean Brown, got the video in May 2015 that Gregory’s conviction was dropped, and the City of Bethel paid $175,000 to settle a civil suit.

After this, the city sent the investigation to the FBI, which referred it to Alaska’s Office of Special Prosecutions. The charging document states that Reid’s use of force “was excessive and unnecessary.”

scared cop who killed a scared dumb kid over his GF buying grass finally fired.

Cop Fired More Than A Year After Fatally Shooting Unarmed Fleeing Teen

A South Carolina police officer who shot and killed an unarmed 19-year-old in July 2015 has been fired from the Seneca Police Department, nearly a year after a prosecutor opted not to press criminal charges in the incident.

“I have terminated Mark Tiller’s employment with the Seneca Police Department,” Seneca Chief of Police John Covington told The Huffington Post in an emailed statement. “This is a ‘Personnel Matter’ and therefore I am unable to provide any further comment or information beyond this statement.” Covington said Tiller will remain on the payroll until Friday, Sept. 9.

Tiller fatally shot Zachary Hammond on July 26, 2015, as the teen, who is white, drove out of a Hardee’s parking lot. In a dashcam video released last year, Tiller can be seen approaching the car and, seconds later, firing into the driver’s side window as Hammond attempts to flee. Tiller claimed Hammond was attempting to run him over and he feared for his life. He has remained on paid administrative leave since the shooting and hasn’t returned to duty of any kind, Covington said.

cowboy sheriff needs gun.

Deputy under investigation after pulling gun on motorcyclist - Sun Sentinel

"He continued to endanger the public by speeding, following too closely, squeezing between traffic and making improper lane changes," according to the report.

The sheriff's office says Mitchell showed "no respect for law enforcement" when he passed a school board security patrol car and repeatedly looked back.

The deputy watched Mitchell and blocked the biker with his marked Palm Beach Sheriff's pickup truck, whose roof lights were off, when Mitchell stopped at an intersection.

The GoPro video shows what happens next as the plainclothes deputy opens his door and confronts Mitchell as Mitchell begins backing up his motorcycle.

"As [Curci] approached the driver, the driver began to rev his engine. Unsure what the driver's intentions were, Curci drew his weapon pointing it down in a safe direction," according to the sheriff's office.

The video ends as Mitchell speeds away down Southern Boulevard.

Mitchell said he feared for his life and took off because he thought the deputy was going to shoot him.

"I replay it and I see it in like slow motion, all I see is his finger right on the trigger," Mitchell said.

Mitchell said he contacted the sheriff's office but after a deputy didn't get back with him that night, he called internal affairs.

Along with the investigation into whether the deputy violated any policies, the Sheriff's Office is investigating Mitchell for several traffic violations.

To get serviced and abuse.

Four Oakland police officers fired in wake of sex scandal - CNN.com

Four police officers in Oakland, California, have been fired for involvement in a department-wide sex scandal, Mayor Libby Schaaf said in a press conference Wednesday.

An additional seven officers were suspended without pay, and another is receiving counseling, according to CNN affiliate KRON4.

The four Oakland Police Department officers who were terminated also face charges of attempted sexual assault, lewd conduct in public, assisting in the crime of prostitution, being untruthful to investigators, and failing to report a violation of law for not disclosing that a minor had sexual contact with police.

The seven suspended officers are accused of accessing a law enforcement database for personal gain, failing to report a violation of the law, and bringing disrepute to the department.

Schaaf said at the press conference that the firings and suspensions send "a loud and clear message that we hold our officers to nothing but the highest standards of professionalism and integrity."

fat cops are fat and dumb and hate freedom.

VIDEO: Cop Humiliates Innocent High School Kid, Tears Car Apart In Search of Non-Existent Plant

video in link.

A Georgia police department with a trail of settlements for civil rights violations has been slapped with another lawsuit accusing more of the same — drug war intimidation thinly disguised as concerns for public “safety.”

In March 2014, Dunwoody Police Officer Dale Laskowski stopped then-17-year-old high school junior, Colton Laidlaw, as he drove to work at a burger restaurant — but what happened next, as Laidlaw told local Channel 2 reporter Mike Petchenik, constituted police state overreach of a bizarre, Orwellian level.

“[The officer] came up to my car and stated I was speeding, and that was the reason he had pulled me over,” Laidlaw said.

According to police, Laskowski stopped the high schooler for going 15 mph over the speed limit around a curve in the road — a claim disputed in the lawsuit.

Petchenik, who viewed the stop in dash cam video shared by Laidlaw’s attorney, noted the tone of the incident almost immediately turned dark.

“Hey, can I ask you a question?” Laskowski can be heard rhetorically asking the teen. “Can you be honest with me, 100 percent honest with me. Do you use occasional recreational marijuana?”

When the teen said he did not use pot, Laskowski then claimed to see some white powder on a car seat — curiously describing it as marijuana residue, according to Channel 2 — and then ordered Laidlaw to get out of his vehicle.

“I don’t want to take that small leaf of that bud right there hem you up on Friday night and make you miss work and go to jail for a little bit of green,” Laskowski said, seeming to patronize the teenager.

For the next half hour, the officer tore apart Laidlaw’s SUV in a desperate attempt to find evidence of the nonexistent illicit substance.

“You’ve got it everywhere, dude,” Laskowski announced during the search.

However, Laidlaw had been telling the truth, and the overzealous, mendacious officer never did find any cannabis — nor any other substances the state arbitrarily deems illegal.

“He rips my car apart. Doesn’t find any evidence of marijuana in my car,” Laidlaw told the reporter. “It was total police intimidation. I was honestly scared. I didn’t know what to think.”

Mark Bullman, the young man’s attorney, told Petchenik police did not follow proper procedure or policies for drug searches.

“Nothing was collected,” Bullman told Channel 2. “Nothing was tested. Nothing was sent to the lab.

“If he really found marijuana all over this young man’s car, why didn’t he collect it? Why didn’t he save it? Why didn’t he charge him for possessing marijuana if it was all over his car?”

A police report of the incident, cited by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, states a small quantity of cannabis was, indeed, found and collected by Laskowski during the stop — but that, in itself, is an odd detail considering Laidlaw only received a warning for excessive speed and was allowed to continue on his way to work.

MALL security guards with guns < cops with guns.

A California security guard who pulled a gun on an Apple engineer for running over a traffic cone as he was trying to exit a shopping mall parking lot is facing a civil lawsuit seeking damages in part because the mall guard wasn’t even licensed to be carrying a gun.

Nicholas Buchanan, 27, an Apple engineer who resides in San Jose, is seeking damages for inflicting emotional distress, assault, false imprisonment negligence and violation of the “Bane Act,”which alleges a cop violated someone’s constitutional rights by threats or intimidation.

“This is serious business when someone stares you down with a .45 on a Saturday afternoon. He was totally out of control,” explained Richard Alexander, Buchanan’s attorney. “Nothing he did was out of the ordinary other than pulling over a traffic cone.”

“The security guard considered that a capital offense.”

A police report established Francis Abraham-Lancaster Fielding as the security guard whose license and firearms permit had expired six months beforehand.

Buchanan was invited to the mall as a business guest, but got held up in a jam of cars exiting the parking garage.

Neither Westfield Valley Fair Mall or Security Risk Management Inc. are available for comment about their policies regarding employee weapons licensing.

According to the police report, in December 2015, Fielding chased the car driven by Buchanan, who came clean with police, admitting he did run over a traffic cone.

27-year-old Nicholas Buchanan admitted he did run over a traffic cone before Fielding held him at gun point for it, ordering him out of his car.

Fielding, apparently alarmed by the cone-crashing, brandished his gun, and ordered Buchanan to get out of the car at gunpoint.

A short while later, a second mall cop arrived and and ordered Buchanan out of the car as well, but he apparently never drew his weapon on the guest.

Police were called to the scene and found Fielding’s state guard license and firearms permit had expired six months prior.

“The fact Fielding was brandishing a weapon and was unlicensed bears closer scrutiny,” Alexander suggested.

“We are all fortunate this didn’t turn out worse than it did.”

San Jose police recommended to the district attorney that Fielding should criminally charged with the crime of unlawful brandishing of a firearm.

Santa Clara County District Attorney declined to file criminal charges against the mall cop, saying there was insufficient evidence.

Richard Alexander said Security Risk Management terminated Fielding immediately after the event.

Police union proves cops are training to kill:

LAPD Honors Officers Who Didn't Use Deadly Force, Much to the Police Union's Dismay - Hit & Run : Reason.com

The LAPD bestowed its newly created "Preservation of Life Award" — recognizing officers who take exceptional care to successfully de-escalate dangerous situations and avoid using deadly force — on 25 officers at its annual "Above and Beyond" gala last Thursday night. The new honor is considered to be at the same level of prestige as the department's highest honor — the Medal of Valor.

...

In a blog post reacting to the award's creation last November, the LAPPL Board of Directors wrote:

We recognize the Chief's intentions, however, the reality is the "Preservation of Life" award announced Tuesday by Chief Beck is ill-conceived and in actuality has dangerous implications. Incentivizing officers for "preservation of life" suggests somehow that this is not what they train hard to do. It suggests that officers must go above and beyond their normal activities to avoid harm; or put another way, that officers will be penalized for resorting to an appropriate, lawful use of force. That is ludicrous. The last thing an LAPD officer wants to do is to harm, or worse yet, take the life of a suspect.
It's not just the honoring of the successful deployment of de-escalation techniques that the union has a problem with, it's the training of such techniques at all. Earlier this year, I wrote about the LAPPL's opposition to the LAPD Police Commission's recommendation for new "use-of-force policies that emphasize de-escalation and the use of minimal force in encounters with the public."

Surveillance video from a gas station shows a Florida cop fabricated a felony charge against a woman when he falsely accused her of battery on an officer.

In fact, the video shows Pinellas County sheriff’s deputy Wayne Wagner committed battery on Paige Taylor, a 26-year-old woman whom he grabs, throws to the ground, then piles on top of after ordering her out of her car.

The video also shows the award-winning officer exaggerating to another deputy about what had taken place to justify his aggressive arrest, claiming as he did in his report, that she had shoved him after stepping out of the car, which was not the case.

The video, released this week, is what prompted the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office to dismiss the case against Taylor last month.
