Why don't we just let the occupiers have their own country? We'll let North Dakota secede as a new country and all of the occupiers can move there and form their own soverign government. In 3 years, when the GDP of New Dakota has fallen to well below the GDP of a small town in the Congolese, and the average standard of living resembles that of a sewer rat, we can say "we told you ******* so" and use it as a history lesson for the rest of america. We will then offer New Dakota financial incentives if they meet certain goals to become a fully capitalistic society, with minimal government regulation. Ten years from that date, when New Dakota has a GDP higher than India, South Korea, and Japan combined, and a growth rate triple that of China, we will again use it as a history lesson...

Why exactly are we blaming the housing crisis on the banks, anyway? You signed a contract, you failed to fulfill the terms of the contract, and somehow it's the banks' fault for doing what the contract says they will do under those circumstances?

I mean, if I go down to Louie the Loan Shark and borrow $10 grand which I then lose at the dog track, chances are good that's he's going to break my legs. As I'm lying in the hospital, how credible am I going to sound claiming that Louie cheated me? Because that's essentially what's happened here. The only difference is that everybody borrowed 10 grand from Louie and lost it at the track, then acted all butt-hurt and surprised when the thugs with the tire-iron showed up.

And this one:

Uhm, hello? The death penalty is applied to corporations far more frequently than to individuals, and not just in Texas. The final stage of Chapter 7 bankruptcy is liquidation followed by dissolution. Eg: the corporation ceases to exist. Individuals get off easy by comparison- they're allowed to continue existing and even to keep the clothes they're wearing.

Ah, well. In the end, we're all just devil-hamsters on acid.
