No reasonably intelligent person can deny this. All you have to do is look at the way the Other Side has been running its campaign. Instead of focusing on the big issues that are important to the American People, it has fired a relentlessly negative barrage of distortions, misrepresentations and flat-out lies.

Just look at the Other Side’s latest commercial, which take a perfectly reasonable statement by the candidate for My Side completely out of context to make it seem as if he is saying something nefarious. This just shows you how desperate the Other Side is and how willing it is to mislead the American People.

The Other Side also has been hammering away at My Side to release certain documents that have nothing to do with anything, and making all sorts of outrageous accusations about what might be in them. Meanwhile, the Other Side has stonewalled perfectly reasonable requests to release its own documents that would expose some very embarrassing details if anybody ever found out what was in them. This just shows you what a bunch of hypocrites they are.

Naturally, the media won’t report any of this. Major newspapers and cable networks jump all over anything they think will make My Side Look bad. Yet they completely ignore critically important and incredibly relevant information that would be devastating to The Other Side if it could ever be verified.

Words like "Sides" and "Right and Wrong" are often used to demonize a candidate running for office. Right and wrong are shades of gray, and "sides" implies a blind allegiance to a particular party, something that no reasonable person would do if their party of choice strayed from their core principles. Will you agree with every position that either candidate has? Probably not. But reasonable people can agree to compromise if the rhetoric is kept to a minimum.

There are real issues that need to be addressed that will impact each of us in the coming years; Issues like the climbing debt, deficit spending, energy independence, a growing government, unfunded pensions, Social Security, and an unstable middle east. Issues that when combined with an ever increasing dependence on government will forever change our country if not addressed, yet the media has us focusing on the minutia, driving us apart instead of uniting us.

Look deep into your heart and vote for what you feel is best for the country, but VOTE!.

And remember, it was those rascally republicans that started all this:

As an act of reconciliation, Barack Obama stated today that in the event of Mr. Romney losing the election, the president will offer him a job within his upcoming administration... in the Libyan consulate.

A politician everyone on Miatatrubo can get behind?

Welcome to my campaign website. I am embarking on a rather unique journey for a candidate for public office, a journey to ensure the citizens of Orange County are not wasting their well-earned money on a position that is unnecessary. I invite you to join me on this journey.

The Tax Collector position is largely an administrative position. It does not direct policy, nor determine taxes. The Orange County Tax Collector simply takes the property values established by the Property Appraiser and the millage rates set by the Board of County Commissioners and then collects your taxes. As I see it, this role could easily be handled within a division of Orange County Government.

After all, the top two paid employees at the Tax Collector’s office alone are supported by the property tax bills of more than 200 homeowners!

The position is being chased primarily by career politicians and people looking for a high-salary job and the excellent benefits provided by the state, such as DROP. I don’t need a job and have been a businessman all my life. I’m pledging to work full-time to eliminate the waste in this office.
His goal is to consolidate the whole office, eventually eliminating the elected position of County Tax Collector.

Because black people scare Fox viewers.

Did a quick news search and looks like only Fox non-news and sites linking back to Fox are running this story. If you look back to yesterday they have stories posted advertising that they will be showing you Black people standing out side polling locations.

Thumbs down

LOL. I wonder why:

Pennsylvania election law states "no person within a polling place may electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body, or candidate, nor may any unauthorized written or printed materials be posted within the polling place."

Many editorials are claiming the GOP pundits sabotaged Romney, lulling voters to sleep with a 'sure win'. Meanwhile, liberal pundits painted a much more desperate outlook (in general ignoring the mathematical outlier Kramer).

More details on Nate Silver and his methodology. A very insightful analysis with a surprising conclusion.

It may just be my bias showing, but I think it was more that those GOP pundits had their heads so far up their asses that they couldn't see the results of a poll performed by their liver. I think it was Blaen in the other thread that was talking about Vegas and their odds on the election. You bet your *** they use all the statistical analysis they can, so they are obviously going to be more accurate than the talking heads who just repeat whatever the campaign tells them to say.

I'll give you that the Fox crowd of analysts just wanted to see thei candidate win, so they kinda threw reality out of the window. But to be fair, the polling numbers were all within the margin of error at the end and that says a lot about the incumdent.

But I think the main issue was most were using 2008 election data in their analysises, but Obama voters were down something like 6 million, and Romney down only 3 million total voters from McCain in 2012.

Had Romney been able to do a better job of retaining all the voters from McCain, he could have won. But that's a scarry thought, that considering after 4 years of Obama, 3 million republicans were turned off more so by Romney than four more years of Obama they decided not to vote at all. That's a HUGE issue for republicans.

Although I guess it also says a lot about the % lost of Obama.

But yeah, it was funny watching a lot of them backpeddle on Wednesday after the predicted a landslide victory for Romney. I myself, never thought he would win.

This one's an oldie, and probably a re-post, but it seems that it just keeps being relevant.
