Default WHat the F****

So, I go into papa murphy's today, the first time I have ever tried one of their pizzas. They are priced equivelant to pizza hut an papa johns in spite of the fact they don't cook them for you and guess what I see. Lonestar and EBT cards accepted. WHAT THE ****!!!! People are able to use ******* food stamps to buy expensive assed pizza? That is a luxury. I am thrifty enough that I could make a good dinner for 4 for 2 nights on that ****. Really? This is where my tax money goes? **** them.... get a ******* job, or don't eat ******* pizza from a semi expensive pizza place. There is cheaper and better pizza btw... and really, just what the ****. /end drunkpost

Guy that works in the shipping dept where I work was telling me how much money he got when he was living with his kids and on state aid. Now he is bitching that he is making $13 an hour and doesnt get his aid cause he isnt with his kids anymore. F'ing insane. He said he used to buy steak and **** at the grocery store with food stamps.

Maybe I have a slightly republican view on this (and im NOT republican), but why do people have to abuse the aid programs??? Guess I am just lucky I have a good job.

Hey I've enjoyed a few of those when my GF's sister had food stamps. After those, unemployment, and child support, she was making the same as my GF, who's a NICU RN BSN at a local hospital.

Well ****... how do I get these. Leave the military, ride the GI bill and collect unemployment? If this is the case, wounded warriors should get at least 100k/year for lyphe.

being a black uneducated women with 4+ kids all from different fathers who knows you don't know is very profitable and that sickens me.

had a ghetto bitch working for me we had to fire because she would not work more then 30 hours so she would not lose her food stamps and government funding. glad to say when she allied for unemployment she didn't get it and was reported to the proper authorities as you can't refuse work and stay in the programs.

very fucked up that i have to work 50 hours a week to make as much as people that do nothing and play the race card. and that's when i can find work.

Papa Murphey's was one of my favorite places to get pizza before I found out I was gluten intolerant. I swear their crust is the best of any chain.

At costco people will buy 3 cases of beer on one order and pay cash then pay for all their groceries on their EBT card. Its really irritating. When I was unemployed I was eating thrifty as hell and freeloading beer from friends lol.

I know a place that'll hire you. You'll have to work hard but they give you a place to live, food, retirement as long as you stay long enough, health care, at least one business suit, equipment, everything you need.

Never heard of this Papa Murphy's outfit. So, you go there and they give you a pizza that isn't baked?

Uhm... Ok. I think I'll go down to the local Mazda dealer and order an MX5 that isn't assembled. Maybe I can even vulcanize my own tires.

I miss the DiGiorno deep-dish frozen pizza. The one that came with its own pan to bake it in. I have no idea when they went away, I just had a craving for one a year or two ago and couldn't find one anywhere. I'm gonna have to man up and learn to make pan pizza.

Oh, and don't sweat the food stamps for lobster. You can get a free cell phone with 250 minutes/month service, too: http://www.assurancewireless.com

But seriously, if i wanted a pizza that wasn't cooked I'd go to the grocery store and buy a frozen one. BTW Joe, DiGiorno is still around but I've never seen one that came with a pan.

Hmm....you may be on to something. I'm sure if we saved a bit most of us wouldn't mind, we take most of it apart eventually anyways.

Start with your local grocer's pre-made doughs, which you can buy at Papa Murphy's actually, just a pizza with nothing on it. That way you can sort out which ingredients (aka, what brand of pepperoni) taste best together, then try making your own crust.

I have no interest in this. A good pizza starts with the crust, and I'd rather eat a bowl of dicks than anything remotely resembling those Boboli pre-made pizza crusts.

What I need is a stand mixer with a dough hook. I just hate acquiring kitchen gadgets. I have a sandwich press and a toaster oven, and these two items have kept me content for many years. Owning a third appliance just seems so... decadent.

Yeah, I see DiGiorno products all the time. They've got all sorts of fancy BS now like cheese-stuffed crusts, garlic bread pizza, combinations of pizza and chicken-wing-like-things, pizza and cookies, pizza and breadsticks, etc.

Feh.

I have no idea when the deep-dish pizza was first released or when it went away. I remember having a few when I owned the house in Maineville, OH, which would have been in the 2003-2004 timeframe. I don't even recall even having looked for one after I moved to CA until I got back from having built some new studios at WBBM (at the Prudential building in Chicago's Loop district) and, having had a really good Chicago-style pizza while there, got a hankering for something like it.

DiGiorno does currently sell something which they call a deep-dish pizza in the small "personal" size, however it's absolutely nothing at all like the old one they used to make. The new one is like a miniature Red Baron "pan pizza" (thick, spongy crust with little in the way of sauce or cheese), whereas the old one came in a metal pan and was more of a cross between a Chicago deep-dish pizza and what you might called a stuffed pizza, where you need a knife and fork to eat it. I found a picture of what the old box looked like:

You misunderstood. I said grocer, not Safeway. Good, deli dough, not Boboli, which I agree is disgusting.

Joe, were you living in San Diego back around 2000? Papa Murphy's was only in San Diego for a couple years IIRC. They closed up all the ones here for whatever reason even though I still see them in NorCal, Midwest, and East Coast while on business travel.
