Whoa homeowner shoots at heavily armed home invaders
#5
I saw this video when it first hit the web. I find it interesting the the owner apparently saw them coming retreated into his house, grabbed a gun, semi barricaded his door, and just happen to have security cameras. Seems a bit suspicious for a random home invasion. Especially with 4 armed men, one obviously well armed, deciding to imvade the home that has a security camera right out front. I know most criminals are not smart but something smells like organized hit gone wrong.

I think the last 5 years has moved home security camera systems out of the realm of "Probably a drug dealer or Wall Street broker" and into the Average Joe world. I mean, I've been considering setting up couple webcams hooked to the home PC* so I can keep an eye on things anywhere I am.
*I tested this idea by setting up a netbook with the webcam aimed at the living room floor to keep an eye on the poodle and to see what he does all day. The answer was mostly nothing.

I am not saying just the security cameras or the fact that he was aware of the intruders is fishy. It is the whole event. His driveway is right on the street but he had enough time to see them, realize they were a threat and coming for him, get in his house and semi barricade his door while grabbing a weapon right by the door (drug dealers often have guns right by the door) and then fight them off. Add on top of this that he has security cameras all around his house and it seems not so random. While security cameras are affordable now they are anything but common. I am not saying this is 100% a hit I am just saying given the circumstances that is how it appears.
