He makes a good point, but completely misses the fact that the Banksters (the .01%, not the 1%), have rigged the system, via gov't power, which transfers wealth up, and causes booms and busts. OWS'ers are rightfully frustrated at the system but completely miss the cause.

He doesn't make the distinction between free market competition / Capitalism, and Corporatism aka Crony Capitalism (which is the evil they see).

Here's a good history of banking and how gov't has steadily protected them from the free market, resulting in the increasing leverage and profiteering.

I'm not sure what a "noodle" is, nor do I necessarily agree with some of the more extremist, anti-capitalist viewpoints being expressed by some within these groups, but something very interesting occurred to me today.

For a long time, I've lamented the lack of motivation within my generation of Americans. As a group, we spend a lot of time sitting around bitching and moaning on twitter and whatnot, but very little time actually doing anything about it.

So this is actually kind of exciting. I mean, these folks have re-kindled the spirit of the 1960's era hippie movement, but they're doing it intelligently. Instead of just sitting around getting stoned and singing badly, they've actually erected a surprisingly functional and well-organized intentional community down there, complete with their own sanitation department, finance department, communications department, security force, etc. And they've learned how to use the media to their advantage.

It's all quite impressive, actually.

(On the down side, it's snowing like a ************ here right now, and It's gotta suck to be out there without tents. I hope the weather doesn't break their resolve.)

I don't see an agenda, realistic goals, or a remote grasp on reality. They also seem to keep shitting and pissing in the streets. I hope they all die of herpes. I've never owned a business because I'm not manly enough for it yet, none of these people are manly enough either. I have no sympathy for their plight.

Like I said, I'm not commenting on their goals or ideals, just pointing out that their motivation impresses me.

If they turned their attention to rightfully protesting the gov't, I'd be a little more content with them. However, their solutions to the probelm would be straight out of pages from Keynes, Chompsky and Marx -- so things would just be worse off.
