intake pressure
please be patient i am new to this.
i am just receiving all my toys for my 99. i did the leak down test and compression. every thing is within original factory specs with 103000 miles.
i am going to forced induction. I took my intake apart to clean the egr valve and passages. in the process I saw a lot of vacuum lines that are capped off or run the egr valves, power brakes, and other "appliances". what happens when you put 8 lbs of boost to the intake manifold? does it effect the power breaks? or any other functions? or are these vacuum tubes have one way valves and i just need to add clamps? my boost kit is coming this week, along with clutch, ecu, headers and exhaust. i figure i have a good two weeks of work to put the kit together. Hopefully the boost kit explains all this but i like to have a head start.https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/ima...es/bowdown.gif

i know the break booster line has a valve in it, not sure about the others but i have never heared of anyone having problems with any of the caps coming of or damage or malfunction from any emissions accessories suce as EGR etc.
you should not have anything to worry about there, what you need to worry about is posting some pics of your car to share with your new home

how do you know what systems i am looking at. i am asking people who race miatas in endurance racing. being an old man i have a lot of old timer contacts. are you peeking in my windows ? is it true about the gay thing with miata owners ? what size exhaust are you running. does it need to be larger?

i am looking for the easiest most dependable system to get 6 to 8 lbs of boost. ecu is the the first priority. i have a 2.5" exhaust from the header back with high flow cats. this is a beginning project. if i choose the rotary supercharger it is for this motor with 103000 miles. i am currently seeking a motor/trans. to build and install. for now i am just looking for a few extra hp. to get the rear to come around with throttle. i have installed the FM 2 suspension/springs, and anti-sway bars and love the balance. if i buy the vortech it is only for that reason. the motor i build will be a total replacement for the vortech. my car is my toy. if the vortech's work, i may put them in my boat, this way i can run to the islands, fish, then make it back to register for the sunday autox! ( we run year round in so. florida)
being an old man is a gift a lot of young people never get to have.

centrifugal SCers are the worst idea ever.
I just so happen to have a dyno at the same exact peak HP at redline. This is my stock 1.6L with a 2.25" exhaust vs. a '99 1.8L with the stage II Centrifgual charger kit that gomiata.com sells.....
case & point.

i still am confused, the dyno chart posted is the difference between stage 1 and 2 vf supercharger, where is the stock 1.6.? please excuse my lack of vision, us old guys cant see to well. what do you say is the difference between a rotary and centrifugal charger? the only reason i am interested in the vortech is the simplicity off installation. this is my first forced induction system. i have built many motors. i do all work myself (other than machine) if i cant do it it doesn't get done. i understand the programing of ecu's and can solder electrical components and i am computer literate ,most of the time. it is that old men like me take to much time. what would you suggest for a basic, quick system to install myself for under 3 grand. i only paid 1200 for the car. and just want 50 more hp. once i get this car done i am planning to build a motor and trans from the bottom up. Thanks
