Thanks Brain.
As for the rest of it. When I took the insulators off the the stock 1.6 inj's and put them on the 305's... I had to use a little force (not very much). That slight amount of force was enough to split one and crack the other three. I didn't notice until after they were all on. Anyways, it looks like 140k mile insulators just aren't up to it. After a more careful inspection of the insulators, they're all shot. They're all fairly seriously cracked (kinda like a 20 year-old wheelbarrow tire) all around and not usable.
So, I didn't even try the 1.8 inulators, because then I'd have nothing to drive. So, the 1.8's are going back in for now. I'm going to follow some good advice that's been given and send the 305's in for a full service to make sure they all flow even. It looks like it'll be money well spent. I'll make sure they come back with new insulators, o-rings, and whatever else they should have.
Hopefully the turnaround is fast and I can get on the dyno the first week of Jan... but it's not gonna be next week. Oh well.

****!!! ****!!! ****!!!
Well, I just went to put the 1.8's back in... and one of the pintle caps has a ******* crack in it. A BIG ONE!!! I can't put it back in there... and I can't trust the 1.6's with that much boost.
So, I've got the 1.8's and the 305's in a box waiting for Tuesday when the mail starts up again. I just called CleanInjectors and Tim answered the phone!!! On X-mas Eve!!! That's a dedicated businessman. Well, I ordered the service through the website and the price was $96 including shipping for all 8 injectors... now lets pray for a fast turnaround.

Thanks for the offer Ben, that's very cool of you, MERRY X-MAS... but I bought them used with who-knows-how-many miles on them. I'm getting a better deal sending both sets in, so for $50, I've got guaranteed peace of mind, and will feel better if I decide to sell them that the buyer is getting a "new" product... even if I take a little loss overall.
If I can mail them Tuesday, get there thurs or fri, and back out on Sat, then I should have them back by following Tues/Wed and be able to sked a dyno run late next week. Stay tuned!

for future reference, you can buy new pintle caps, o-rings, and upper and lower insulators from www.mazdatrix.com for cheap. the parts are the same for the 89-92 rx7 as the Miata injectors.

I just got word from Tim at the cleaners and my injector (mailed Tuesday) are done and will be back in the mail today. I should have them Wed... it looks like dyno time on Friday. This afternoon, it's helper spring time.
