I did a search for this, but unfortunately the terms A/C and PS don't net the best results in a forum search engine.

As the subject would suggest, i'm looking for some options on a turbo manifold for a 96 1.8 that would leave me interference free in terms of leaving the A/C and PS in place. I'm a bitch when it gets hot out, so as much sense as deleting the A/C may make in terms of power and performance, it in no way makes up for my ***** sticking to my thigh.

I'm looking for some manifolds/headers that I can keep an eye out for that would be reasonably priced. I'm obviously not opposed to buying new, but my budget on a manifold is $175-$250 so I'm pretty confident anything new in that range is gonna be a POS.

What do you suggest?

I suggest that you save up $750 and buy either the Begi manifold and downpipe, or the FM manifold and downpipe.

Well $750 just ain't gonna happen, lol. But do both of those leave you clear of the PS and AC? I can keep my eye out for used. I have some wiggle room on my budget, especially including a downpipe. But $750... ouch.

begi/fm will run you 400.

that's about the cheapest its going to get unless you can weld/fabricate yourself.

with 250 go buy yourself hookers and blow for a day and leave the car modding to people with money

Zing... I'm sure my budget is nowhere near may of yours. But they're $400 new. I'm sure i could find a used one for nearer my budget. I've already dropped $5500 on ---- for my Miata (mostly suspension and engine management.) $2800 of it in the past month. No need to be hatin'... I'm contributing my fair share to the almighty Mazda gods... don't worry. Just don't feel like blowin' my wad on something because it's still in the box. FM manifolds are built like a brick $hit house... a used one will do me fine

Yeah I'll keep my eyes open. From looking through old classified ads looks like they can be had for $200 (sometimes less!) if you're quick enough. I saw a few garrett/begi combos for reasonable money as well. I'm starting from scratch so package deals work great for me!

I've had my eye on both the begi and the fm for awhile, just really wanted to see if these were compatible with A/C and PS before I began my hunt for a decent deal.

Head flange, 2x long radius 1.5" 90*, 2x 1.5" T, turbo flange of choice. Add about $4 in weld wire. That's as cheap as it gets.

I can't help but cringe when I see people quoting things like a ~$200 budget for a turbo manifold. I just spent double that on a bicycle wheel, and I consider it to have been a sound investment.

Begi and FM manifolds can be had for my $250 budget used pretty regularly. I'm a "used" guy. I don't buy a damn thing new, 'cept condoms. You can get good, quality components for 50% of their new cost. I just bought an MSPNP that was 10 months old for $300 shipped. But if i would have come on here and said, "I need a stand alone system for 300 bones", you all would have told me to raise my budget or get bent. Do some hunting... Amazing what you can find. I don't need my car done next week.... I got nothin' but time...

For the love of god!!! The point of the bloody thread was (as the clearly written title would state!!) which manifolds will allow me to utilize both a/c AND PS!! I am immediatly called a punk *** fu&@tard because i can't currently bring myself to spend $750 on a god damn brand new manifold, and am then ridiculed for saying i can find them cheaper.

And might i add.... Nobody even mentioned if a begi or an fm actually allow me to use a/c and ps... They just mentioned how much money they apparently have to spend on everything from manifolds to bicycle wheels and how anybody who doesn't wish to spend obscene amounts of money for what is (at the end of the day) a fuc$king toy is a loser...

Sounds like you've got a decent direction for your project. A lot of folks go hog-wild on ebay and lose sight of the fact that, in the end, cheap parts usually cost twice as much.

Both the BEGi and FM log manifold work with A/C and PS. I've personally ran a BEGi and can confirm the BEGi log does work with both.

/They even say it on their website if you bother to research their sites.

Anyway. I understand i'm a new guy here. I'll have the "**** on the new guy" moments. But it was a pretty straight forward question. Anyway, i'm not a guy who buys "cheap" $hit. Just don't have the means to buy every part, of what will be a very costly build, brand new. The point of the thread was to find out which manifolds i could start searching for (used) that would achieve my end goal and not be a metallic pile of poop.

My question was answered.

Just a word of advice on a used manifold. You might want to have a couple bucks handy to get the flanges put back to flat. My cast FM manifold and outlet needed it after less than 2 years of use when I had it apart.(mainly street driving but some track/autox).

Good tip! I will keep that in mind. I will also look into the do-it-yourself route using the weir parts. I'm a decent welder and i've done a fair bit of fabrication. Not sure i'd trust myself welding up something that will undergo as much stress as an exhaust manifold, but i'll read up on it and see what i find.
