the sparco sprints are not very expensive.

borla catback = 2.25", you'll want at least a 2.5-2.75"

i always run cats. i'm an prefer to keep my cars legal.

good suspension is a must with more power. a limited slip diff is also critical. i really wish i had sorted both out before putting in my turbo as they are hurting me at this point.

a roll bar would also be a wise addition, at your age you will do something stupid (probably more frequent than us "old people"). nothing personal, it's just that you've only had a license for 2-3 years and your experience level is relatively low. turbos add a whole new layer of complexity to driving.

7) 500 lb/in front and 300 lb/in rear springs
8) Sparco Sprint seats
9) Clutchnet clutch
10) lots of beer for install

and you would probably still have some cash left over...
Seems about right, would rather go with an ACT clutch myself.

You also forgot the 7" diff swap with an LSD (either torsen or rx7 clutch pack)

And 15x7 or 15x8 wheels with 225/45/15 Hankook RS2's or that new toyo that is supposed to come out.

Sprints are only 300$ each. They are on my "when I have cash to blow" list.

460s would be best. The 550s would be way more than you need and the 460s will idle better.
I think the $5000 into a mutual fund as well was pretty darn good advice. Long term ftw.

If you want a short term investment... buy OII in Jan-Feb and sell it in Aug-Sept. you will nearly double your money pretty much every year. OII = Oceaneering International Inc. They make offshore oil pipeline repair equipment... so it peaks like hell every hurricane season.

I don't get it? On the first page you(miataz) said that you had 10g's to blow, but when someone mentioned getting a 1.8 and building it with forged internals you said no to both. My question is why? You'll have a huge sense of security knowing your motor is built, and you'll have one fast *** car.

P.S. sorry for throwing the thread a little of topic since you guys were discussing the injectors right before my post, I just had to ask.

keep an eye out in our for sale forum, ebay, and the rx7 boards. you can save a hell of a lot of money getting rx7 460s over RC injectors.

aha i dont know i dont feel like throwing in a whole new engine, the turbo kit is like 4grand+ alone. I mite forge it mite not i dont want a huge turbo and i cant even drive it on the street i want like a fast street car not a track car, and i dont know that much about engines i have the book but still...and i mite just wait till she blows But that is all true, i mite not get the 1.8 but i mite forge it well see if i get some help i mite do it, i probably will though because i am pulling the motor out soon so since its out mite as well eh?

I am going to modify my recommendation:
Take $5k and put it in a mutual fund.
Take the other $5k and go to Sylvan Learning Center.

Get a base BEGi kit, a nice suspension, and put $5k into a mutual fund.

If i had 10k to put into a miata i would get a nice begi kit as savington said along with some full coilovers/sways/braces ect. If you dont have a torsen, get one. Hardtop if you dont have one, roll bar as well or even cage depending on what kind of driving you will be doing. Street vs track car.

With the extra money i would buy a Whole Life insurance policy which invests money as well as pays for your life insurance and eventually pays for itself after a set period of time and eventually one can withdraw money from that account and never have to pay life insurance again.

lol you guys keep talking about these funds, i already have about 5 bank accounts for me 3 for school ones a mutual fund and ones spending money, and if i run out of any il just ask my dad for more lol. Whats good suspension, like what brand should i get i know there is alot out there but what ones? Torsen can wait until i blow my stock one aha i mite be getting a hard top, i have a style bar probably going to sell get a rollbar chromed or something like that. I think im going with the BEGI-s stage 3 one with an intercooler upgrade, and the turbo upgrade i think its going to be around 4,000-4,5000 so theres half the money, ms and injectors is another grand, suspension grand, roll bar 500, then torsen prob and i got 3 grand left over not bad.

might be a dumb question, but im pulling the motor should i put on the turbo kit while the motor is out or while its in, because i was thinking there might be some fitment issues, so what would be easier, while its in or out?
