Default water line size?

Hello all,

I'm almost done getting everything for my turbo. I need to get the oil and water lines. I have all the sizes for the oil, But I need to know what size water lines I need. I can get the lines a banjos from ATP, but I need to know the size of the hoses coming from the water source pictured below.

Thanks for your help.

Tony

Should be 5/16?

Yup. All of the "small" coolant hoses are 8mm, which is .314". 5/16 is .3125", which is a perfect match.

Right. That's what I thought. So the 3/8 will work, right? Thanks for your help.

You might take a look at the braided steel water lines at the hardware store. They are close in size, and some sort of teflon or plastic inside for hot water. They are rated for 60#s, or so, of pressure. I think you can get 108"s for around $15, although you will need to cut off the ends.

Depending upon the year of the car - some are 5/16 and some are 3/8. 5/16 will fit with a little muscle.

If your barbs on the coolant neck are 5/16 you might have trouble getting 3/8 to tighten down to it. I kept mie 5/16 and made them fit on a 6- (3/8) barb by putting the hose end into boiling water than just push real hard.

The fitting I used on the turbo are -6AN, I used a couple of fittings to step it down to fit at the motor.
