Default Anyone running one of these or something close?

I found a local guy that has a bunch of turbo stuff he's selling off in a bulk buy. He has 2 turbos, (only planning on using one) the spec are:

.57 compressor wheel trim
.50 A/R compressor housing
.63 A/R turbine housing
T3 T04e

I have stock 2001 1.8. What will the spool RPM range be? Just trying to find out if It's worth buying and trying to use.

I' have searched, but it's spotty info at best. Any info is good info though.

Thanks guys...

That is fairly similar (actually I think its the same setup) I have sitting on my bench. No experience with it as of yet.

That same turbo on a 1.6 @ 12psi:

I'd expect it to spool quite a bit better on a 1.8. Also of note: 2.5" exhaust and downpipe, so again, lots of room for improvement.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this turbo for a car that sees lots of low speed driving. It was fantastic when I drove on the highway every day to work, but once I started commuting in the city I found that I rarely got to enjoy it and would have much preferred something a bit smaller. YMMV

Hey, I learned my lesson on that one. I had a built motor in the works, but seeing that turbo sitting my my desk was just killing me, so I swapped out my 50 trim and got underwhelming around-town results.

The low TQ. I make 100 more tq at 4000K at the same boost level with the same motor and im still at the upper limits of the amount of power the motor can hold.

My benchmark for greatness is the ability to hit 150rwtq by 3000RPM and not see any torque drop off until 6.5K.

Thats why I'm asking about the turbo unit. Any idea on a value if I were to sell them?

I'm curious what it'll do on a 1.8..

Far as I remember (2 years ago) that compressor isn't a good match for our engines.

I have that one on a 99 1.8 . Move the graph down 500 to 800 RPM is all. I did a bunch of cam tuning and put a .5 A/R comp to find some amount of low end. T3/T04E came on the car. Bad install, wrong turbo. never again. lol

It can be made to pull better than that graph with work. But why... Ah, because I messed up and bought one...
