Default almost ready to boost

Lads i have a question

im coming towards the end of my build now and im very nearly ready to take it to the mapper man.

i have a mspnp2 that i have to put into the car and have ready for the dyno, however my knowledge of mapping it provisionally is somewhat limited (as in i cannot get my head around it....at all) i have the turbo fitted with all my boost pipes on and inter-cooler fitted, IAT sensor, map sensor plumbed etc.. if i leave the waste gate flapper disconnected how much will the turbo boost to?? as in if i run it on the base map will i be relatively safe for a 200 mile drive if i keep the rev very low.....

OR alternatively could i run the air flow meter and just let the turbo boost into free air..

ya i know its probably a retarded question and i'm waiting for the ''learn how to tune it'' comments.. but i would appreciate any comments none the less..

Thanks for reading...

if you disconnect the flapper and drive with light throttle it will not boost and you will be absolutely fine.

do not "let it boost into free air" that's stupid and you can overspin the turbo

load base map, calibrate sensors, drive it to the tuner.

Agree with 18psi: Leave flapper disconnected, don't let the turbo free-spin into free air, it'll kill it. Don't drive like a jackass (keep a max of maybe 3-4 in/Hg), and you'll be just fine.

I guess you could drive the car a few times, check for leaks, loose bolts etc. before embarking on the 200 mile tuner trip.

As already said, wire the wastegate open and drive it like a limp wrister.

OR put a decent base map on there, do a little autotuning(its OMFG easy) with VEAL and boost your way there with style.

im still in the learning phase of how that autotuning works.. is that using the tunerstudio software? is it worth the extra 50 quid?
