Default capri xr2 stuffs

Easy question

I have access to a b6t capri with all the engine bits for cheap

Is it worth it to get anything from it (I am going boost) just curious about cams(looked it up, seems they are the same or close to it) turbo, manifold(i can change the flange if need be), injectors, ecu, etc.....

thanks

I assume you have a 1.6 miata?

So, I'd just grab the connecting rods (assuming the xr2 rods are the beefier versions) and block fittings that feed the turbo.

The head has restrictions on the capri/gtx, depending on your power goals it could be beneficial or not.

i do, my build thread i had was closed due to tight arseness ahem cough cough braine...something or other

but since that is gone yea i have 1.6 miata, custom rare 96 edition. got it running yesterday.

powergoals are super chill, like 200 max, at the crank. i just want the choo choo kachoo noises and some more thrusting from behind...

the turbo itself is in good condition on the xr2, is it worth grabbing? i mean i know i could flip it and make monies but i mean does it spool quick and all that jazz? what bout fpr? are they variable based on boost on the xr2s?

If you're serious about wanting only 200hp (like what, 150/160 at the wheels?) then you need NOTHING from that car. The manifold is cast ****, the rods are not needed, the head is AIDS and the turbo voted blue.

This is all you need - BEGI Shanghai-S Turbo System Miata BEGi Just add a koo koo ka choo valve and you'll be set

If it is the same as the Familia turbo I don't think any of it is usable as it will point the throttle body back into the firewall and the turbo straight down into the subframe.

Don't listen to these idiots, of course it's useful!

You just have to mount it sideways in the engine bay, then convert to front wheel drive.

I'll warn you once, there's an official warning just for noobs insulting staff members, so watch your mouth.

We constantly tell people not to base their build around a single part, like a turbo. It's just not worth it, and in the grand scheme of things it's not terribly cost efficient as you might think. Nothing else on that car is worth it, aside from rods that are slightly beefier, but that's too much work for your power goals. Find a nice SR20 turbo, rebuild it, get a cheap log manifold somewhere, with an FM/BEGI/Abe downpipe, and build a MS. Together with a wideband and some junk yard sourced injectors, you'll make a decent setup.

im not insulting the staff per say, more the closing of a thread without warning, when no rules had been broken and the topic was viable. That is ridiculous.

and thanks for the tips people

i pulled the 1.8 apart today, had a burnt up valve, but bottom end looks great, so mixed feelings.
