Default Change of plans - going Greddy

Hi All,

I have been reading and working on getting bits together for a DYI setup for some time - but recently I have decided to change tack a little and ivest some time looking at a Greddy setup.

I already have a Miata Link ECU in the car and a innovate LC-1

I was thinking of installing the Greddy kit with a "turbo tony" down pipe and Trackdogracing 'over the top' intercooler.

I have the plug and play RX7 460'cc injectors.

My first question is - does the trackdog racing intercooler plumb up OK?

Does anyone here have a similar setup and what kind of figures are you getting (or believe that I should get)?

Im guessing that the cost of this will be iro 2.5k (1200 for the turbo kit, 1100 for the intercooler, and iro 200 for the dp) - so its still cheaper than the other kits on the market.

Can anyone see problems with the setup i'm thinking of?

Thanks for your help

Chris

screw the Trackdog kit! $1.2k !!??!! Get stripes kit for it for less than half the cost. $550, great kit. I've installed one and seen two others. See dyno day pics.

AMEN Brain! Unless you've got a hard-on for the over-the-rad kit, even $550 is a ton of money. If you've got A/C and P/S it makes more sense, but you can do a nice around the rad setup w/ a good ebay intercooler for $100 and another $150 in quality pipe and silicone.

Knowing as much as you do already, and already having fuel/spark taken care of w/the Link, all you really need is Mani/DP/Turbo/IC/Pipe/BOV/sundries.

For kicks, we'll talk T25:
Begi Mani: $439
Begi DP: $285
Turbo: SR20DET from any Nissan forum $125
Rebuild Kit: $75
IC: $100
Piping/Silicone: $150
BOV: Bosch OEM $30
Oil Water Lines: $50
Boost Gauge: $50
Misc Line/Fittings/Hose/Nuts/Bolts/Gaskets...calll it $200 to be safe:
=$1504 total for an easy 220 RWHP

But KFJ's deal in the classifieds is impossible to beat. The cost of his intercooler alone is worth it over what you could piece together yourself (it's taken me over 2 months and I'm not done sourcing ****)... and the GT2554r (kills a regular T25) is a $500 new turbo and I haven't seen them for less than $300 well used on the Protege forums (I've been looking a long time). I like hookin' a brothu up, so buy his stuff, you need nothing else. It's already engineered and proven.

Even if you had to have the over-the-rad, I'd think it would be worth it to DIY. That's what UofACATS did.

$1100 for the intercooler? That half the price of my entire setup cost me.!!

Yep - I did a happy dance last night when the boss (my wife) allowed me to buy it. Some things were just meant to be,
