Default Check my math real quick for my new IC

according to my math an IC with a core of 22x7x2.25 would be plenty enough for my set up

My math is coming at 458bhp ...right or wrong

no ac or ps I took everything out...I have plenty of room to go up but i just dont want to block my whole radiator, still gonna stick with the greddy kit and 15psi. But with the upgraded wastegate, and relocated mbc line to before TB, the starion IC just looks too restrictive and hopefully for the next dyno day I'll hit 250whp easily if not I'll give up.

for sure that starion is holding you back you should see 250 no problem with any decent intercooler. i wonder when my little guy will start holding me back, it's hard to say if my heat gain on the dyno was due to intercooler size or my major boost leak making my turbo work extra hard. i saw a about a 40 degree rise. it probably is time to go bigger

maybe something along these lines

also, the one you linked only has a 2.25" thick core, seems a little small especially with 2.5" outlets

I had a freind with a Starion unit on his DSM. When he switched to a stock MKIV Supra IC (sidemount) the difference was very noticeable. The Starion was not much better than stock surprisingly.

Oh yeah, math......

Staion = suck^2 + needz moar boozt.
22X7X2.25 =

ah screw it I need to find the hockey game

I agree with the tickness but I think I'll be better with a longer one then a taller one, specially that the mouth of my bumper is 5" tall by 26" wide.

Out of curiosity, what are the limitations of the Link?

I've only personally known one guy to run a Link, it worked but he complained it was a pita sometimes..

It's not bad, 8x8 map, knock sensor, auto tune that works pretty good, it is an older system but it gets it's job done. I've seen 300-400 hp talons, supras, subarus on a shitty piggy back and they run fine. IMO the link is plenty enough for my needs.

So back the the IC, where's when you need his math skills.

I found the perfect one I think 22x8x3.5
what do you think? Only thing is that it doesn't come with the pipes but I could just order them separetly.

If you go with some ducting you could get away with a taller core. Personally I would get something taller and thinner to help the air flow to the radiator. I have my sights set on this one:

iirc corky says more tubes are better than longer tubes*... and thinner cores will raise air temp less as it passes to rad.

*Don't quote me on quoting Corky

I have the book next to me now and he says anything past 24" reduce internal flow area. The math on the second intercooler you picked looks like it will support the 458 hp.

i dont like math. just make sure the runners are 18-24" long and you probably want at least 7" tall. Anything past 24" long and it's diminishing returns as far as cooling the air charge anyways.
