hey a throttle body upgrade or a bored throttle body seems pretty popular for a preformance upgrade. I haven't heard anything in a throttle body upgrade for the miata. has anybody bored a throttle body or get an aftermarket one? is it worth it? i wonder how much it chokes the engine? everyone talks about ports and polishes but nothin about the throttle bodies.

just wondering, any thoughts?

There are several BTB that I've seen from the various SC kit guys. Most of the blowers for the miata, are roots style, so the TB is on the back of the blower.... so it's a big restriction. <G>

You might want to check out some stuff on the StageOne Tuning, or the FF forums for dyno's etc.... I think it used to gain 10 rwhp.... IIRC (but it's been a very long time).....

I'm not sure if they will bolt to the stock manifold though..... and I don't have one. <G>

Im sure it can help a little bit to open it up, i just never took the time to bother with it as i figured the gains would be next to nothing considering the rest of the intake system is a slightly smaller diameter and has to pass through an intercooler anyway. Probably has the best gains on an NA vehicle.
