Default Ebay Turbo Kit..

i have always had sr 240sx's but i wanted to try something new for a change.. miata sounded like overall a better car then a 240. so i thought i'de turbo it the cheapest way possible and see if i like it..so far so good.. it blows the 240 out of the water..

i wanted to know if any other people here have bought an ebay turbo kit (16g for 1.6) and got a big box of crap that they couldn't use like me..or did they get something useable.. it was the first time i have ever bought anything from ebay,,i didn't know that anybody would sell such junk..

nothing fit, none of the fittings, hoses, studs, nuts, bolts, down pipe,i.c. pipes, and manifold.. i am so lucky that i had a lot of turbo stuff saved from my other cars.. i had to make new pipes for everything and use all my own fittings and lines.. and redrill the bolt holes for the manifold.. and i had to clock the **** out of the turbo and make a new mount for the waistgate..

is this normal for ebay stuff??

then the company that sold me the crap asked me for pics of the kit installed..to help with there sales..i told them that the only thing that used from the kit was the manifold and the turbo, that wont last long.. so its not really there "kit" ,, its mine..

there was plenty of documentation on it.

Or one would simply look at the ebay auction and then flip the common sense filter on. This would replace all the product description with the text "do not buy," and it would lock your wallet shut and freeze your paypal account. It would then enroll you in a hooked on phonics class.

dont worry about it a lot of people have fallen into the same bear trap. i can never fathom why people buy such an important and delicate piece of equipment on a website that sells dvds other flea market stuff.

Braineack pretty much sums it up on the ebay kits, they have been more than discussed on this forum...

welcome. i was also a big sr20det 240sx guy... been thru 2 of them

as for ebay stuff....... i wont buy a kit, but i may end up buying an ebay ******* manifold. i can deal with redrilling ****, I had a megan racing manifold and elbow on my sr20 and its the best decision i ever made. I could have bought 5 of them before i even touched the price of the name brand stuff

One of life's little lessons.
It's just automatic for me lately whenever I have a new purchase that I join an online forum, do homework, check ebay, check Craigslist, etc...

I recently discovered that I was missing an important weapon in my audio-visual arsenal. One of my buddies turned me on to a really expensive pair of headphones. I decided to buy a pair... and $200 later I'm waiting for a Sennheiser 595 to arrive. I'm currently doing my homework into a dedicated headphone amp to run them... apparently it's blasphemous to power them through the receiver jack. Online forums rule!

i paid $1000 for the "kit".. had i known what it would be like,, i would have just bought the turbo and mani..

and i did try to do research on it.. but at 101 pages of threads it gets a little old..
oh well it's done,, and the money is long gone.. all i need is to get some injectors from an rx7.. i have like 3 sets of 2 each..(each set has different ohms) i need a set of 4.. everybody takes only the top 2 at all the junk yards around here..

That's why when you do a search, you do an ADVANCED search and select "TITLES ONLY"... narrows things down.

My buddy just bought a $1000 ebay kit for his Civic. It has JDM written on every single part (literally), even down to the clamps, but at least it all seems to fit haha. Should be interesting to see how many miles it lasts.

1000 for an ebay kit sounds pretty damn expensive. Hell you could pick up the greddy for near that which is at least mostly guaranteed.

i looked around for about a month and found 2 greddy kit for sale but both guys flaked.. 1k didn't really sound to bad to me for what i thought i would be able to use.. i thought i would have to cut and grind some things to make it work,, but it was a whole lot more then that.. way not worth it in the end.. overall i 1100 all together for the kit to be completed and in my car wasn't bad.. i am now looking for rx7 injectors..
