It's a casting flaw on teh CHRA, I doubt its open to any cavity.

Stick a piece of wire or a paperclip in there to see how far in it goes. If said wire/paperclip comes out with oil on it (worst case scenario), then maybe put vbands on hold lol.

I'm allowed to make turbo jokes because my 2-month old Garrett T3/T04E just ate ****. I was sitting at a stoplight and hadn't driven the car hard in over a week.

Paperclip test: no oil/smear. I think only the drain hex bolts protrude there.

It's not open. The 3071 I just installed looked exactly like that. Had me concerned too but it doesn't go anywhere

It could just be some porosity in the casting. As mentioned, as long as it is not large, or does not leak, then you are OK. I would not even bother with JB weld.
