Anyone try their coolant reroute kit? I used the site search function for Skidnation and got no results. Also google Skidnation reviews and didn't get much on the reroute. Someone did a nice writeup on their frame braces, but not reroute. It's pretty cheap on ebay and thinking of doing it when I replace my water pump....and timing belt while I'm in there. Got the fab9 tb kit on order. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Skidnation kit. Thanks everyone!
It's a spacer reroute and an Escalade hose bundled up and marked up for people who can't do their own research. With Supermiata's Qmax reroute available, you'd have to be silly or very cheap to go another route.
Silly. Probably. Cheap. Definitely. But mostly impatient. I liked the qmax system a lot, and the price seemed right, but it is not available until mid october. So I started looking at other options. I'd seen write ups on other spacer systems, and they highlighted some of the mismatching between the kia neck and the spacer, either lack of support around the bolts, or having the logo go right across a sealing surface. But I had not seen anyone review the Skidnation. If they were machining their own spacer, I thought there maybe was a chance that it lined up with the kia neck. Also, putting together a kit yourself can't be that much cheaper than what the skidnation kit sells for on ebay, especially since the spacers available on ebay go for around $90. But your post did make me wonder why I am in such a hurry to get a reroute kit, rather than wait for the qmax to become available in mid october. Hopefully there will be enough available so I can grab one.
Wait for the Qmax to come back in stock. I have used 2 or 3 different spacers now over the last 7+ years. I have never been overly happy with any of them. I am pulling a spacer reroute off my car and going to a QMax one shortly.
I've never had a reliability issue with my BEGI spacer, kia waterneck, and escalade hose. It's certainly cumbersome to line everything up installing it and I have put it on a few times, filled it with water, and had it pee all over the floor.
With that said, the Qmax certainly looks a lot better. I had trouble understanding what was going on with it from pictures, but found a video that explains it nicely, around 4:30 you start to get a good look at how it goes together.

To be fair to other vendors here, the "issue" with logo on the sealing surface was a non-issue if you read through the thread. Since thickness was added to offer clearance around the water plug the Hawley Performance product is first rate IMO. I started off with the BEGI POS and removed it after it decided to **** coolant over everything for no reason.
I bought Micheal's product and had some issues in V1 which he promptly resolved with the V2 product. Since then it's been on my car + no leaks and no issues.
Re your cost comparison, you can buy his today for spacer, or spacer + install parts or spacer + install parts + hose. Pretty simple.
Wow. That is an outstanding price. Cheaper than I saw on Ebay, though the Ebay offer probably was not through them. Thanks for the info. I actually want to contact them and see if they had considered doing an o-ring version, since the gaskets would be a huge PITA when replacing a thermostat. Or maybe I could just buy one and put the o-ring groove in it. That would be a good excuse to buy a rotary table!!!
I have the SkidNation coolant spacer. He machined the spacer himself. Quite a few people run them in Europe. There is nothing particular wrong with it as far as I know, but it is not as nice as the Qmax of course.

We make our spacers here in Oklahoma and have what most would consider a very high level of customer satisfaction and support. Our eBay part do tend to have a bit higher price to cover the additional fees we incur on for listings and such.

It's worth noting that RevLimiter has a v1 spacer which doesn't have the additional thickness we added to help clear the nipple on the back of the head. I feel like leaving out item cost might have been a slight oversight. Emilio has certainly produced a premium product with his new kit, but it comes at a price of $95 + shipping more than ours.
If you want all the bells and whistles, the Qmax might be the kit for you. We employed the K.I.S.S. approach to keep install simple and costs reasonable. I'm sure that each kit has its place in the market.
I know this is an old thread but this is still a relevant thread when you Google the skidnation reroute. I just recently installed it and I'm commenting in hopes to help people decide if it's right for them.
I am not impressed with the skidnation reroute but I will say I have not filled the car up yet with coolant so I will come back later and provide feedback on of it leaks. The hardware in the reroute feel cheap and the machining on the spacer is lacking. There were little marks on the block off plate and on the inlet housing. They are on the very edge though so hopefully this doesn't cause leaks. My biggest gripe with the skid nation reroute is the outside shape of it and how the thermosensor sits uneven due to the shape. The spacer is convex on 2 sides and when you screw in the thermosensor even with a crush washer it ends up digging into the convex shape. This seems like a very simple thing to notice and I don't know how this made it to final production of the spacer. But yeah hopefully there's no leaks late today. Also the shipping was a few weeks. Not the worst but definitely not the best. I would definitely try to find a different kit if you have the patience. Part of why I ordered the skidnation was they were in stock. Now I kinda see why they were.
To update my review overall it seems that the reroute is ok but I suspect a small leak somewhere up front. Probably need better sealing. So it does function ok after all but I will still stand by saying the quality of parts could be better.
