Default Ebay turbo 97 miata

Hey mt.net first time posting. I picked up this miata cheap because it had some frame damage so I decided to give it some cheap boost.

Before you say do this or do that trust me it will be done just not right now. Stuff it will get soon is a ms system, will run an adjustable fmu for now. If anyone has a ms for sale pm me please.

Everything was ordered on ebay for around 750 total. It took me a weekend to fab everything up. The only thing that needs to be completed is the rest of the downpipe since its just an elbow.

Yes I know the manifold will Crack but I will be taking it to a speed shop to reinforce it with some more braces to delay the process. Will also have the eventually reroute my lower coolant to not touch the compressor housing. This miata gets driven once a week maybe so I'm not concerned for now. After long term use it would if I left it like that. On to the pics

i dont see a BOV, you need a recirculating bov to dump between the turbo and MAF.

if going megasquirt, then open BOV is fine once you eliminate the MAF.

2871 will be laggy, its a big turbo.

LOL 2871 being a big turbo. Its t25 flanged so im sure it will spool just fine. I ran a 3076 on my mazdaspeed 3 and imo it still wasnt that big of a turbo. When you run a t4 flange its time to worry about spool imho. Thanks for the heads up recircing the bov, I have a bov it's just under the front wheel well dumping to atmosphere.

I have a 2860 T3 turbo on a 02 nb, and compared to my 99 nb with a 2560 its super laggy. and a 2860 is a slightly smaller spec than 2871.

You have a t3 on a 1.8. That will always spool slower than a t25 of the same motor just saying.

maybe you are right.

all i know is that my 99 with a 2560 comes alive at 3k rpm and the 02 with 2860 at 4k.

go head and hate, I saw you did the same with your fm kit in the for sale section. You lose about 700 on the msrp of that kit?

Yes the manifold will Crack, it can always be replaced with a cast one. T25 sr20 turbos can be had for cheap, (couldn't find one at the moment so went with a turbo with a one year warranty)

Intercooler is on point - bar and plate
Plugs are ngk, blue wires are coming in today.

With a good tune this car will make power. Don't be all butt hurt because you like to waste money on prefabbed kits, sad that you're a moderator here.

I'm comparing gt20 series turbos and your throwing in a 30r into the mix. Shut up, yes a 30r is much bigger than a 20series turbo and will spool slower even with a smaller hotside. Should have made myself more clear but damn you're an *******.

Serious question here, What was the fab work? Isn't this just an eBay kit?
