Default COPs are f'king wonderful

And 99 miata coils are crap.

Ive finally got around to doing this and WOW. what a difference.

My plugs were gapped stock, around 0.40, and my AFRs are extremely bouncy. Not steady and all over the place. i know, i should have gapped them smaller, but after going COPs, the burn is better, my AFR's are completely stable, and it runs smooth as silk.

i highly recommend everyone to do a COP set up ASAP if youre going turbo.

yea its been running. im just trying to get a decent tune now since everythign needs to be redone.

im now having a problem with hooking up the EBC, and i did a WOT run today since i changed the ignition system. thank god no misfiring, but it was only boosting 5 psi it seems. I really need to figure out this EBC soon if i want to boost more.

No, im not using the EMU anymore. that thing never worked right from the start for me.

I just opened my Autolite's up from .040 to .045 and everything is good w/my my '00 Corolla COP's at 14psi.

Since the dyno a couple weeks ago where I put down 200whp, I've upgraded to COP's, uploaded an entirely new Spark Table, opened the plug gap, eliminated a bad stumble caused by an overly aggressive ACCEL Enrichment table, pulled the charcoal canister, and cleaned the engine bay thorougly.

I've gotta get back to the dyno and see where I stand.

Ok, so if I find them at a salvage yard obviously I could grap the clips aswell. What do you do if you dont have the clips? Get them from Toyota?

check the "useful post" archive. everything is there, including pictures and diagrams for wiring.

i bougth the clips for a total of 28.00, then i had to buy the clips to install in the COPs themselves from newark.com

you can buy without a minimum order from newark, unlike other electronic component websites.

if you think about it, this modification is about 90-120 bucks depending on COP prices and the prices of wiring, making of the bracket, and other stuff. For NB owners, this is a great alternative when your stock coilpack starts to go out (which is common). A brand new standard coilpack from mazda is about 220-250 bucks.

ill take the COP set up.
