Default Economy of boost

OK, more like economy with boost, here are my less-than-scientific observations (each time I get gas I fill up and reset the trip meter):

My stock greddy system would routinely give me around 27 mpg at wastegate 5.5 psi.

My greddy system with a BEGi FMU in place of the vortec 12:1 gave me 26 mpg at 6 psi and 24 mpg at 9 psi.

My greddy system with a retuned double check valve BEGi FMU gives me 27 mpg at 9-10 psi.

i see anywhere from 25-27 with the system the same. However i'm sure you noticed a difference now as you leaned it out from before.

I certainly don't get that will all in town driving. Sometimes if I do a great deal of highway I have seen some pretty high numbers, if fact almost 30 once, but usually with a mix I get between 20 and 22.

Dude, I don't abuse the car, but it certainly gets driven. You can search for the 2 FMU modification threads from the past couple of weeks.

Car pulls much harder, but there is also far greater responsiveness getting into boost and at lower boost. And I expect another big improvement with an added bleed through an adjustable release valve--or whatever simple solution Corky comes up with compared to my elaborate (and evil) plans.

my gas mileage really didn't change all that much with the turbo. Still average 24-25mpg easily while beating on the car.

I consistently get 30mpg back and forth from tampa to tallahassee, cruising about 65-75mph.

I had the same problem when I was in MI. If you do ANY short trip driving without letting the car fully warm-up you'll see this. The car dumps a hell of a lot of fuel through during warm up enrichment. For a while I was averaging 14-15mpg when I was just driving back and forth to school (less than a mile from home). Now that I'm back in TX and commuting 20ish miles to work I'm back at 27 or so.

You were driving less than a mile to school every day?!

Good way to shorten the lifespan of many parts on your car. You should've bought a Segway...or WALKED.:gay:
