My autometer adventures are finally complete. The lock nut for the EGT is some weird auotmeter format and the inside of the nipple is larger than a standard 1/8th NPT nipple. The turbo side is 1/8th NPT though, thank god.

could it be a compression fitting? My Defi EGT has 1/8 NPT and some other thing on the other side.

Yeah it is for the autometer EGT I am moving over from my other turbo. Just annoying that it is a part you have to order from them and wait a week for.

And yes, it is a compression fitting.

any reason why you drilled the turbine housing instead of the manifold?

Maybe he didn't have a good "collector" point on the manifold. The entrance to the turbine is as good a collector as you can get.

The collector is very small and it is hard to say where the welds end and the drillable stuff begins. I didnt want to weaken a weld and deal with cracks in a manifold that has been rock solid for 3 years.

Besides, this will keep my EGT readings comparable from the old setup.

It is going into the mail now. I'm getting it coated in "satin titanium" to match the color of the stainless exhaust.
