Default Has anyone ever used a Garrett TB25 on a 1.8?

I am putting a kit for my 2000 model. So far I have the mani, dp, and ss lines feed and return lines. I just found someone with a good deal on a Garrett tb25 turbo off a gst eclipse. I was wondering if anyone had ran one and what they thought of it. It looks almost identical to the GT2554r from this chart http://www.ztechz.net/id1.html. I have really been leaning toward the gt2560 but I ran across this and it seems like a really good deal. $100 no shaft play

The mitsu t25s have a different mounting flange, its not t2. And for 100$ you could get a t25 off an sr20 which does have a t2 flange.

If your power goal is between 250 and 300, get the 2560. If it's between 200 and (maybe) 250, get the other turbo.

And they're even smaller than the typical t25 and probably won't even hit 250whp. More like low 200's.

I have seen them on ebay for 100$ the 400-500$ ones are not stock s13 sr20 turbos and if they are thats way over priced.
http://zilvia.net/f/sale-items/39478...injectors.html
thats what u would normally get for the 400-500$ range, s15 t28 ball bearing. I could not find any t25s for sale on there but i didnt feel like spending much time on it either. Check out all the nissan forums you will find one. And yes im 100% sure the flange on the mitsu turbos is not a t2 flange and im also sure that those turbos make less power then a nissan t25, they make less power then the 14b and i dont think a 14b is even capable of 250awhp on the dsms, you might get 250whp with a front wheel drive dsm at like 15+ psi. That turbo on a miata with bandaids will prolly not be able to crack 200whp.

I Found a couple of the t25 turbos on the sr20 forum for around 150-200 but the exhaust flange was a 4 bolt so I guess I will keep looking

I bought one the other day for $85. The guy was asking $120 and I talked him down. He was local too.

I found a guy with a Brand New Garrett GT2560R locally which is what I have been wanting and I bought it earlier for $500 which seemed to be a good deal. Do u clock the ball bearing turbos the same as the journal bearing turbos? I read something saying u clock it differently but don't know how true that is

not sure about the gt2560r, but I have a gt28 off an S14, and I clocked it down, but had to buy a new wastegate and cut a bracket for it. stock wastegate for it wasn't useable unless I had the turbo outlet pointing up. really easy to clock though, just a few bolts to loosen. no dealing with a giant C clip or anything

atp is really good with shipping your stuff out right away

I actually bought my gt28r off ebay with 100 miles for $500.... i'd buy it $500 for a genuine new one
