Default Help me choose a new turbo

My ~13yo Turbonetics turbo failed in spectacular fashion. A rebuild is likely not feasible so I'm looking to replace it with a like unit. Unfortunately the original model is no longer available. The car is a dedicated track car (99) running stock internals @ 10psi, aftermarket ECU, ignition and straight pipe exhaust.

The failed Turbonetics T3:
  • .48 A/R
  • 60 trim
  • Turbine outlet 49mm
  • Turbine wheel 58mm @base & 46mm @end
For the replacement unit:
The compressor wheel options are 60 trim or super 60 trim. Which one should I choose?
The turbine wheel is available in 54mm, 57mm or 62mm. Which one should I choose?

Thank you for the help!

The F1-49 turbine wheel is the one you want on stock internals, sure there's no 49mm option?

I wouldn't mind trying this guy here, if it were $600...

Looks like the 11038 pretty much matches what I have. I now see why the F1-49 wheel isn't listed. Guess I should read the bold print.

Why would you choose the 50 trim over the 60 trim?

AFAIK the compressor wheels are all pretty much the same size, with the lower trim wheels favoring low speed flow over high speed.

Since the t3 50 trim everyone likes to use seems able to get to transmission/conrod worrying levels of torque all the way through the powerband my guess is there's no need for the extra flow that would probably hurt spool.

And yeah, that's pretty much the MKturbo t3. You can find the same turbo on old volvos and saabs.

How much power were you making with that turbo?

I suspect the numbers are a bit inflated and it's not entirely clear if the run was made at 10psi or 12psi.

Thanks for the dyno sheets. And no problem doesn't have to be exact just wanted a general ball park of what power to expect!
