Default What catalytic converter on your turbo car?

Decided I might as well be compliant with laws..

Planning on installing a high flow cat after I finish the built motor cause my current one will be dead very soon.

Need 3" and prefer factory flanged bolt on... What do ya have?

Enthuza just made me a metal core 3" cat with factory flanges. He's finding out what cell count it is. Good price too.

With 1,993 posts and 1.8 years on this forum, matter of fact I did.

Guess I didn't really state my purpose of thread, I'm interested in opinions not just what everyone has.

Searching "Catalytic Converter" returned 305 threads, which the first 2 pages of didn't strike me as very informative.

After seeing your torque curve with that cheap cat I'd be very interested to see what a better (maybe?) cat might do for you. What brand did you pickup? Assume its a universal weld in for your v-band setup?

The brand is "Metal`Cat". They kick ***.

High flow magnaflow? Not terribly high flow. Metal`Cat kicks their ***.

Metal Cat - The Hi-Flow Cat - Arguably the world's best high flow catalytic converter

as mentioned above, that brand. I got it also at JC oddly enough. they were sold out for a year or three. back now though.

Metal Cat 3.0" Inlet/Outlet Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter : JC Whitney: Auto Parts & Accessories

I'll have to cut out the current one and weld flanges on both the exh and cat. no big. at least no big once I get my welder back from brian!

worth every penny...

I like the idea I *should be able to pass Harris County smog testing, and see negligible loss in power, and quieten the exhaust just a little more (have hollowed cat right now, man does it sound like ***).

can't wait to get mine on, should be here any day.

Cat's are for people who want to run less timing and make less power and not shoot flames... aka pussies.

+1.

Well actually, using a stock NA 1.8 cat as of right now, until I build my custom 3" exhaust. Then the cat will be replaced with a 3" cutout. No emissions FTW.

I run the Enthuza 3". Huge improvement over stock (with the rest of the 3" exhaust that is)

You and every other exhaust I've built (including pauls no muffler exhaust) uses Magnaflow's spun metal core cat 3".

FYI - PerformancePeddler sells the Metal Cat brand much cheaper than JCWhitney

http://www.performancepeddler.com/de...T_ID=SUP200605 $134.99
They knocked it down to $125 when I called for "best available pricing". Always free shipping

Performance Peddler drop ships these direct from the manufacturer same as JCWhitney.
