I'm using Megasquirt on a 1.8 and plan on a DIY dual feed fuel rail, which removes the stock pressure regulator along with 460cc injectors, 255lph pump.

Would there be any advantage of using a rising rate pressure regulator or should I just buy an external fixed regulator?

What should I set my pressure to?

You should set your base pressure to like 35 psi at idle i believe. With the rising rate regulator you could run more boost with the 460s because you could flow more fuel at the higher pressures. You would still be able to tune it all with the MS. Just setup the rising rate peak pressure and tune for it. More complicated in a sense, but it shouldn't be that bad. Get whatever is cheapest unless you want more than 250 hp then you'll want the RR to push more fuel through the 460s.

Okay I already have a couple different RR regulators, but don't want to complicate things too much until I'm really familiar with megasquirt tuning..

Are the ebay regulators worth spending the $$ on? Looks like Aeromotive regs are 180$ or so...

I wouldnt skimp on something like a regulator.

Why not just get a 1:1 regulator like the one on the fuel rail now? or why not just convert the stock rail?

Its just fuel tables dude. I tuned fuel tables in like 3 hours once I finally got my head out of my ***, and I'm the biggest dumbass on the board.

Let me know if you want to make 2 fuel rails, I'd love to buy one off someone in fear of moving too much fuel in my car.

Is converting the stock rail pretty easy? Just pop a 1/8" NPT hole in the end?

Well thats just another item that JimB was supposed to build for me. I'll let you know what I end up doing.
