A 2000lb NA with 200whp is capable of 12s. Theres sub 180hp non turbo miatas running faster then 13.70s. My na on a 75 shot recently went a 13.48 and that was with a 1.9 60' which should be more like 1.7. But for the original question, my car on the 75 shot will not spin from a 3rd gear roll, but if i slam it into third from second it will start spinning. My tires are 205/50/15 khumos. I estimate about 180whp on the 75 shot, could be little closer to 200 though. Edit> My 13.48 was ran on 225/50/15 mickey tompson drag radials.

I'm pretty sure he said something about an all season tire.

Savington, that time slip is hurtin. What's the deal with a 2.20 60'? My miata has way more traction than the old fwd. My stock miata should pull better 60's than that. Were you sleepy that day? How many passes have you run?

Your time looks good for your mph but how much does your car weigh?

I plan on trying a set of drag radials but I'm scared of wheel hop. I would rather back the hp down than risk breaking something with wheel hop. My old car was so bad it would jump out of gear if you didn't hold it in.

Edit....just noticed you were car.#69......classy

Wrinkle wall slicks are safer for the drivetrain than street tires or drag radials because they absorb the shock loads and don't hop.

My buddy Troy in a naturally aspirated, stock bodied Miata with narrow slicks:

Good question. I dunno but his mods were quoted somewhere on here when his times and pics were originally posted a year and a half or so ago. He doesn't post too often so it shouldn't be too hard to find. He is miata2fast on here.

Now that is a time slip. He makes up 4 tenths just in his 60' times and he is the same MPH over the line. He would be high 13's with Savingtons 60'. Kinda interesting to see the reaction times are so close. I never got a chance to run slicks on my old car but I knew it would run high 12's with slicks just going off the time slip numbers. The difference is amazing.

Obviously troy has some time in the seat if he's pulling those numbers. I would be interested to get some more info on his setup.

Car was 2300 plus driver, I have maybe 6 passes ever on a strip. That was my 3rd or 4th ever?

Yes, the 2.2 60' isn't good. I blame zero experience and 185mm wide all-seasons.

Both are major problems haha. It's not even like you have an auto. Dragging an auto with all the delay boxes and stuff seems like cheating to me.

My 90 should be able to hit high 12's with a good set of tires in the back I guess. I'm going to run it over the scales at work.

I'd like to take the car back again sometime - I suspect it would run high 12s at ~122-123mph

If all you are gonna do is straight line, why not get an auto. quicker shifts, don't drop out of boost and can put a load on a car from a stop. I don't see how you consider it cheating, just another tool for the job.

I like how OP talks a big talk right now with zero time slips in a miata thus far.
Classic "I'm such a badass I'm going to re-definte your guys' standards for power" noob behavior.

Here's some advice: go run 12's at 200 and report back.
I'm not saying you can't, and all the power to ya if you will, just don't say you will til you have. If that makes sense.
Our cars don't have the traction off the line like mustangs and camaros, and don't have the power up top like boosted hondas, they are fun as hell but are not straight line dominators like some others. It takes effort to make them run the quarter real fast.

You mean with the new setup and dyno queen numbers you are shooting for right?

Didn't Hustler do a couple of tunes on N/A cars for members here and yielded good results? I've tried to find them to no avail, that's something OP should look into.

Mmm, no. I don't think Hustler is a tuner. Maybe that's why it is hard to find them, lol.

Pretty sure Hustley tuned at least a handful of cars. I vaguely remember him posting about it a while ago
