Default 99 oil feed help

I need to order a new oil feed line, but being in Canada this will take 1-2 weeks to get to me (or more given our impending postal strike). In the meantime, I have a short oil feed line I can use, but will have to extend it about a foot. Can I use a 3/8" rubber hose to the oil feed line? Any issues going from 1/8 fitting at sandwich plate to 3/8 hose back down to 1/8 fitting on oil feed line? Would really like to finalize this setup and make sure everything is working.

I would not do that with hot high pressure oil, just wait.

that sounds so stupid that I'm tempted to tell you to do it just to see what happens
make sure you take videos/pictures for evidence

Nothing like watching it all burn to the ground on the 4th!

Happy Canada day?

Awesome answers, thanks guys.

@bahurd, are you suggesting extending the line with a hydraulic line or replacing it all together.
