Default Anyone located around Cleveland, Ohio?

I'm having some problems with my turbo setup on my Seven. I've been working on it with a MegaSquirt 3, I've looked over everything, my dad has, and so has my buddy, but no luck. The most psi the 1.8 is getting with a Super 16G is the high 2s. I've looked over everything, disconnected the BOV, looked for leaks.... No clue. I'm going to try deleting the intercooler and see if that fixes it, but other than a leak there, I can't figure it out.

Anyone around my area? I live around Cleveland/Youngstown, Ohio.

Nate

P.S. my build log is here.

He's being silly. It's a reference to That 70s Show.

That's a good starting point for you.

Ah. I don't watch TV, and never have, so that explains it.

Most of those guys are 2-3 hours from me, and with no VIN or title yet, I'm a little hesitant going that far.

I did see one from Chardon, but he has 3 posts here...

Did you drive it? If yes did it feel fast or relatively the same? My boost gauge was broken first time I drove my car. Would hit 1psi with a line off the manifold, 4ish psi with a line off the turbo. New gauge in and I was actually hitting 10psi.

I've driven it, right before and right after finishing the turbo plumbing. No noticable different, and with that size turbo compared to that size of engine, I'd notice the difference, even at 7psi.

I've used both the gauge on TunerStudio going off of the MAP, and a physical boost gauge, both very close together. The first run never reached 1psi. The second didn't reach 3. Both were up to 5500rpm.

Wide open throttle I assume? Where is signal line for your waste gate? Does your turbo whistle like a diesel? If you have the signal line off the manifold and there is a boost leak the turbo will spin faster to over come the leak (to reach waste gate pressure) so it'll whistle louder.

The wastegate is vac-lined to the manifold behind the TB. No whistle, no turbo sounds. It is spooling; when removing the intake from the turbo, it's definately moving.

You could try running a signal line from the turbo directly to the boost gauge to see what pressure is at the compressor outlet. Also make sure your signal line to the gauge and mega squirt is free of kinks, leaks

I used to live around Columbus then Youngstown but I'm in Texas now so no help there. Have you checked out to see if the wastegate is working properly?

Well, tonight, I took off the intercooler and BOV, replumbed it temporarily, and enlongated the bolt holes for the wastegate actuator, to allow it to be closer to completely closed. It's still a tiny bit from completely closed, but...

GOT BOOST! I made a short run, mostly in 3rd gear as suggested, and had a top RPM of 5400, with 6.3psi boost. That's right about where I was aiming for, about all the wastegate will allow without the EBC (which is temporarily unplugged), and there's still another 2000rpm to go.

I think I need to find someone that can tune it on the dyno, either that or run VE.

Will post map soon.
