Default Unknown Rebuilt T25 Garrett - HELP!

Need help identifying this turbo and if it is worth my time and $. My goal is a DD-able 230-240whp (friends tell me to buy a S2k, too true )

Owner says its a recently "rebuilt (by Garrett)" turbo, T25. Sent me good pics too...anyone more keen on details than I?

Your pictures don't work.

Post them as an attachment please, we (thankfully!) can't view files from your gmail account.

You may need to get the 4-bolt engine flange resurfaced.

It's in excellent shape, and I'd be pretty confident in a recent rebuild.

It's not a T25, I will lay a large amount of money that it's a T28. Looks like a good turbo to go for with your HP goals.

The a/r is .80 Brainy - I believe it's a T28.

Interesting. What model is the .80 a/r T25 off of?

(Edit) Very weird, I'm supposed to have a SR20 T25 (T25G), but it only has a .62 or .64 (Whichever) compressor a/r. Hmmm...

(Edit2) Very, very weird. I'm not certain what turbo I do have now after a lot of searching... Damnit Brainy, oh well. I'm about to go chinacharger, so it's all good.

^So that means??? T25G (normally) has what turbine A/R?

1. Would this be good for my goals?
2. What Manifold/DP Combination would work best for me?
3. What did Blaen mean about getting the flange resurfaced?
4. $$$ What should I bargain with this guy? asking $400, but said if I'm serious we can negotiate.

1. Yes
2. Classifieds to Artech, it's more your budget then anything.
3. Look at the picture close, specifically at the 4-bolt engine-to-turbo flange in the second picture posted.
4. $400 for a T25G is -really- steep

1. Yes <GOOD!

2. Classifieds to Artech, it's more your budget then anything. <Sooooooo...any 1.8L Miata T25 flanged manifold? Custom downpipe I can have made by Miller-welding guys here with the Jet Dragster Team...Where can I find just the flange I need to mate to the outlet? Divorced is likely better than mixed right?

3. Look at the picture close, specifically at the 4-bolt engine-to-turbo flange in the second picture posted. <I see now, complicated process? I have access to very talented people with awesome equiptment.

4. $400 for a T25G is -really- steep <$200?

2) You'll be able to do something awesome with that. I would imagine on par with Artech stuff.

3) No, all you are trying to do is get a flat surface. Or you could just use a gasket, but most people on here don't use a gasket.

4) $200 for a rebuilt T25G would be a good price I'd say.

I paid ~$100 for my rebuilt T25G. Anything above $200 is too much.
