Well played

I have an unhealthy desire to build a BP-powered Festiva. The only thing keeping me away is the total lack of decent tranny options :(

im only on my 11th tranny and 13th diff... and it locked up a few weeks ago... lucky number 12 is about to go in. apparently once i get a good LSD i only have to worry about the case splitting.

yep its the one i got from you. ill be doin a better job of gasket matching and installing a hondata intake gasket once i take it off.

What stops me is I can't find a festiva for sale that I'm willing to pay $$ for!

They're always completely and totally trashed yet the seller wants top dollar.

Are there really ANY good tranny options? I was of the assumption the EGT was but I guess not?

Oh, LOL @ Dyno video. GO....waiting....waiting...waiting...FULLLLLL BOOOOST!

looks way laggier than it is. the run started at 1800rpm

the best tranny option is get an adapter plate and run a turbo MR2 tranny. which is dimensionally impossible in the festiva. engine+plate and trans ends up being 5" wider than the distance from frame rail to frame rail.

im working on rods fool. im gettin LSD first. taller gearing and LSD will make it a more reliable rape all on freeway rolls

the open diff grenades. no stock lsd option. a band aid is to weld the diff pin to the carrier. i have had 3 fail so far with just the pin welded to the carrier so i have been welding a little spot in the center section of the pin so it cannot eject past the spider gears.

everything that says custom i made

93 ford festiva, custom cross member and engine mount, custom turbo manifold made from stock header, EscortGT/Protege/Sophia BP05 with kia valve cover, intake and exhaust ports gasket matched, intake and exhaust manifolds gasket matched, EVO III big 16G, Tial 38mm open wastegate, custom 2.5" exhaust with 2 cherry bomb mufflers, 3" ams oil cone filter, ebay intercooler(3" in and out/3" charge pipe), ebay civic radiator, walbro 255 fuel pump, ms1v3.0, 1000cc EV14 fiveO injectors, toyota COPs(wastespark) street tuned by Drunk Russian Performance, mazda 323 GTR intake manifold, spec stage 3+ clutch, hydraulic trans(escort GT, BP protege/sophia) custom converted to run as a cable clutch to save space, custom shift linkage and shifter, mercury capri XR2 intermediate shaft and axles, custom intermediate shaft bracket to engine, reinforced gas and clutch pedals, full custom poly front end bushing kit, custom 1.5" extended front strut top hats, honda civic ebay springs and sleeves up front on festiva KYB GR2 struts, 94 nissan maxima rear shocks with 96 integra GSR springs, Ford aspire front brakes/hubs, Ford aspire rear dead axle with brakes, interior is gutted except the two front seats, 10.5" Grant Jr drag steering wheel on custom hub, instrument cluster is stock festiva except for the NA miata tach and protege 140mph speedo. turboXS knock lite, honda prelude front seats, original shifter is now my hood prop. pretty sure thats it.

I have a couple crappy clips from when I was tuning it:

vs a big turbo (t70 or something) b16 civic

400whp CTS-V

another 400whp CTS-V

and another run

I have been in this car for over 20 different races, and it STILL scares the bejeezus out of me every time we go out. And I've been in my fair share of "scary" cars.
I hope JT posts up some more vids or links or something ,this car pretty much street races every single weekend and hits the strip every other wednesday.

Everyone in town knows it

forgot about the CTS-V's...that was a fun night... and to think i have an extra 20ish whp since then and the power doesnt fall like a rock at redline like it used to.

the fastest ive clocked on GPS was 163. not really by choice. a new V10 M5 wanted to run and i took a fender on him and was not willing to give it back. he let off when i hit my 7k rev limit and shot a fire ball out my bozo. i consider that a win.
