So this kinda freaked me out, so I did a little research online but have not been home to confirm.
The Crankshaft pulley and the harmonic balancer seem to be the same part. From what I read the harmonic balancer has a piece of rubber in the middle that helps prevent vibrations in the crankshaft, NOW, the piece I have here does NOT have that rubber piece, therefore there is no "give" at all. I also read that some people remove the harmonic balancer all together and that some people swear by an all aluminum pulley increases horse power. Has anyone tried this and done a REAL comparison?

How do you remove the harmonic balancer all together? It's your crank pulley. It's kindof important.

To be somewhat helpful... I wouldn't worry about your pulley till after you built your motor.

not helpful at all. Lol. My plan is to learn about engines. How to build them and how they work I'm not just trying to bolt some pieces on and hope for the best. I want to understand how they work as I'm doing it, and why some pieces require the other.

You require that pulley because it drives your accessories.

This absolutely boggles my mind.

Are you suffering from ADHD?

You literally made a thread of making terrible choices, not knowing literally jack didley squat about a single part that you ordered, buying terrible parts that you either don't need, don't know what they do, or both, and that won't help your car at all, but result in fail, and then you make a statement like that.
The statements in your post could not possibly contradict each other any more than they do.

I mean do what you want, its your car and your choices, but don't try to tell us you're actually trying to learn.

This thread is all about entertainment/amusement. Its not serious at all. As soon as you started machine-gun ordering terrible ebay parts and not even knowing what they do the seriousness of this thread went from 2 to negative 200

I actually thought you were trying to be funny. Seriously. Trying to make us laugh with making the worst choices and then still attempting to make the car fast with said parts. Like a hilarious science project of fail.

You guys don't seem to understand, this $hit was already ordered. I haven't purchased or bidded on ANYTHING since I found this site. I didn't know at the time what I know now, and even what I know now isn't much. What I do know is this.....I bought a bunch of $hit, I own a car I hardly ever drive. I'm putting it together and learning in the process. After I read through all the **** talking, I'm actually learning, and even though it ain't what YOU want me to do. I'm starting to get a better understanding. How does that contradict itself. I want to learn how they work, when have I said any different? Also I never said I was trying to make the car fast, in fact I said just the opposite. Just want to know how to build the car. If it works great! If not I can at least say I understand how a turbo engine works. You prob missed that part

Wait, this isn't a joke?

I'm genuinely confused as to what's going on in here. Did OP actually just buy a bunch of random ebay parts, hoping to slap them on and make #racecarbro?

Sort of related; I want to learn chemistry so I'm going to buy a **** ton of random chemicals and start mixing them together in my basement. Wish me luck!
