You do realize that the DSM AWD transmission is just basically the FWD transmission with a transfer case right?

yes. I did two clutch jobs on an alltrac by myself. you don't pull those out the top. you lift the car off the engine.

the miata is not hard but a tranny job is a tranny job. it'll take a weekend of your time if you're a home mechanic doing it alone. if you're rich and .... TRUST YOUR MECHANIC... then yes, it's worth the $300 to have it done.

I got the miata clips on and stubs back in (PITA)....going to throw the axles back on today....If these result in the same leaking problem, I have a source for 86-88 RX7 stubs.

I pulled the tops off my old 1.6 axles and swapped them onto the 1.8s so I could retain my ABS gear, since my 1.8s didn't accept them.FWIW, I now offically hate circlips...took me all sunday to get the bitches back over the clips. But at least my ABS will work again. (not that I really care)

Megasquirt should be here by Friday or so.

I broke my stupid *** coolant temp sensor off the thermostat this morning, so ill have to replace that....good thing is my IAT is now installed

so hopefully the car will be idling/running this weekend.

Isn't that sensor on the thermostat housing just a switch used to turn the fans on? I'm sure that the MS can do this for you using the other coolant sensor on the back of the block.

You aren't the first person to break that sensor. I just gotta know how you managed to break it?

tightening the t-clamps on the TB...wrench slipped and I managed to snap the sensor off.

I'm just going to replace it cause it's easy and cheap, just sucks.
